  • Why don't they show the results of the following tests? 1/4 mile, brakes, skid pad, slalom. I want to know how this car performs.

  • I think the narrator was trying not to laugh at how bland and boring this car is throughout the review lol

  • The Corolla might be reliable, but the competition has surpassed Toyota in terms of

interior quality, road manner and safety recalls.

  • new jersey license plates?

    XD

  • Awesome looking car!

This is why it is the best seller car.

  • Who does not want to have such a nice car?

But before one can achieve this target, one can surely have the prestige of riding such an executive car and also can give the surprise to their family.

  • @CrashJSTest dats it,because im lazy

  • funny how we are watching a toyota corolla video and the commercial in the beginning is for a volkswagon

  • what the... I've driven a friend's new corolla a few times but I wasn't aware the steering wheel is adjustable as shown in the video. nor did my friend tell me about it. I did adjust everything else adjustable when I got into his car because my friend is about 15cm taller than me lol.

  • They are just so damn DULL. It is a toaster oven. It will work, but there is nothing to get you engaged with the cars. Then again, even Honda has become so bland and boring, so bloated even. Can any of these manufactures make fun, zippy, simple base model manual interior style cars that cost little? The base Yaris is dull too. VW used to make some fun nimble little cars, then they got all Bloated and boring as well.

  • @djkenny The drive is only as exciting as you make it. The car has little to do with it.

  • @galex50 Oh, believe me... I have driven this generation of the Corolla.. character is still an issue. It is about as fun as driving a couch.

  • wow after looking at the interior, my 86 looks like a pos.... at least i can drift :D

  • A short and sweet review.

    Dr John

    CarSanook!

    Bangkok

  • uh..its not quiet..

  • Shut up man! All this Toyota recall is nothing but a conspiracy from the American Motor Companies. Get over it.

  • ahhaah yea okay yo can think that if you want. Is that why the president of toyota is going to court? Toyota sucks face it

  • @76ersbbball You mom likes Jamaican dicks, face it !

  • @tammyj264 You are very right my friend!

The company which made the acceleration pedals is US based company! They have sold the same pedals to other manufacturers too and even to the military!

How come non of those companies didn't have any problems with the pedals and only Toyota has some issues?

  • why r many cars dat are manufactured in US ( including toyota ) are not reliable

  • @digitalrebelxti Yep, CTS is the manufacturer. They also manufactured some gas pedal assemblies in a few Chrysler models in which explains why Chrysler recently recalled the Dodge Chargers for the same problem as Toyotas.

  • It's Dodge Calibers, my mistake, not Chargers.

  • @tammyj264 The American media jumped all over that story, didn't they?

  • ricepaddy it didn't sound like a joke.. hey, no harm done I hope...

  • it owon me over i wanted a corolla because a camry was to big for just a drive and zero luggage. i wanted value reliabilty and style. you have to admit the new style is much better than the 08 and older corollas with the bubble shape and the interio is styled nicer the older corollas interior seemed less cheap. i got zero percent finanacing for 60 months through toyota thats what made up my mind i have a friend whos mazda 3 is already rusting and has more rust than my old 99 camry i sold

  • any critic about the rear seats lumbar support ?

  • hehe, read it again ricepaddy69..your funny.. maybe you should go to COLLEDGE to.. because I FEAL you didn't understand what he/she said..

  • OK. I guess you didn't get the joke, then.

  • COLLEDGE? its college.. FEAL? its feel.. finish your high school first hondacrvman, did you even finish grade school? unsafe to drive your brand new corolla if you can't even read the road signs and directions properly..

  • COLLEDGE? its college. FEAL? its feel.. finish your high school first hondacrvman, did you even finish grade school? unsafe to drive buddy if you can't read the road signs and directions properly.

  • Actually, I think hondacrvman -- driving a toyota -- was trying to spell F-A-I-L-S.

  • why do people leave their age as we care and its only a corolla. idk why your trying to show off a corolla lol. its like the cheapest car on the market. ha what a loser and learn how to spell.

  • The Mazda3 beats both, thank you very much. And the Mazdaspeed3 just leaves the Si and the XRS in the dust ... well, more like the XRS will see the dust kicking from the Speed3's tires before the clouds actually reach it because it'll be so far back. Ha ha *Nelson style*!

  • lmao...the civic si would easily leave the mazda 3 in the dust dude...wtf are u thinking, lol?

  • If you're talking about the base, the 2.3 and the new 2.5, then yeah. Civic Si - 197 bhp/139 lb-ft torque. Mazda3 base - 148/135. Mazda3 2.3 - 156/150. New Mazda3 2.5 - 167/167.

But if you were reading carefully, you could see that I also mentioned the Mazdaspeed3, with 263 bhp/280 lb-ft, and that's what I referred to from then on.

  • Compare the numbers and tell me who beats who. Or just look it up on some comparison test video.

So, to answer your question, that's wtf I'm thinking, or rather knowing and observing.

  • The civic Si i test drove and it feals like a old Grandma Ride like the dash is weird and the interior is just uhhh so thats when i went to toyota and bought my corola S the same day!

  • You went for less horsepower and overall performance? That's brave! I don't think I could do that.

  • LOL im 19 and i have a 2009 corolla S Auto Trans its Black And i love it it so safe needs little maintnance the dealer told me and i just love the way it feals when i drive It I LOVE THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS its such a good safty feature REALLY GOOD CAR FOR COLLEDGE!!!!!!!

  • is da auto transmission noisy ?

  • Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are common on cars sold in North America (because they are mandatory in Canada). They've never been shown, statistically, to provide any safety benefit whatsoever.

  • I'm under the impression that the S is totally a "show-off" car.. it adds no extra power, it's only the XRS that does. And yeah, the dealer will tell you a lot of things to get you to buy the damn car... that's a given. It's purely for looks.

  • Ironically black paint is a high maintenance detailers color. Stock up on Autozone supplies

  • I'm a 22 year old XRS owner. I love it and am more than satisfied with it. Not that the Civic, Sentra, or other cars in it's class are completely bad cars, it's just I prefer the Toyota.

I think it gets overly criticized for no reason. Really-- the 09 is a good looking, reliable, and fuel-efficient car.

  • It's better the civic si seadan in looks

2.4L low compression motor w/ 160 hp easily boosted and cost less with the boost then a 2.0L 197 hp civic si/ gti / cobolt / mazda3 / wrx

just lacks 6th gear but will definately keep up w/ all if not beat all.

    starting prices

    civic si - 22

    mazda - 23

    gti - 23

    wrx - 24

    sti - over 30

    xrs - 18

  • 18K? Not in this town. The cheapest XRS at our local dealers (5 Toyota dealers in this town!) was 22K. Sorry, but Toyota dealers, even in this pathetic market, are still playing "we dont have to deal, we're Toyota." So I only spent 18.5K on a Mazda3 S 5door 2.3L

  • I have one! I love it, just got it.

  • does any1 own a corolla and if u do is it good? quiet? i need a new cuz on my car the heat doesn't work, and we chenged the thermostat still won't wrk we revved it it worked now it doesn't. and does any1 know if 03 nissan sentra GXE handles good in snow

  • buy a corolla of any year..it will serve u good

  • no , not da 2008 or 2009 !

  • it is good. i am one of the previous corolla owners (93 DX) that is interested in buying a new 2009 corolla. it's pretty quiet, but the new one is very quiet. it's more like a luxury car now. by the way, the heater in this car works very good. it has kept me warm on every occasion.

  • its very noisy ! trust me !

  • not really ! not as fun as civic, noisy, and seat position is making me feel unnatural.

  • the s model seems pretty cool.

  • "most" toyotas are pretty damn reliable....ive owned 7 cars..and the most bullet proof so far has surprisingly been a 1987 toyota tercel wagon....it was simply engineering excellence....

  • Once a Corolla owner always a Corolla owner. That is until you win the lottery :)

  • lol it's true. the only reason you wouldn't buy a corolla again is if you want something bigger or more powerful. things like that.

  • no,its becoz da new corolla isnt da old corolla anymore !

  • @darkman699 Yup! Cus' that is when you go get yourself a Toyota Land Cruiser with all the options.

  • It does look like the new camry, and I guess thats a good thing. Nice car.

  • I have a 2007Corolla. Best car I have ever driver and I have had them all Olds, Buick,Chev. Taurus. No more living rooms on wheels or unreliable domestics for me. My wife drove a Toyota camry for 10 year it was Serviced regular and only needed one set of replacement tires 256.000 miles later. Beat that Detroit.

  • weres the GEO PRIZM version of this ?

    I only buy American Made

    ha ha

isnt the Ford Fusion built by Mexicans ?

  • The Corolla is built in California at the Nummi factory... also in the TMMC factory in Ontario Canada.

  • Camry Junior!!! welcome to the world

  • they keep getting bigger >=[

and the previous generation was more fuel efficient.

    still a good looking car,

and i would get one only in xrs.

to justify the new increase in size with the 2.4

    one plus...very aftermarket friendly car.

and the same 2.4 thats in the tc, xb and camry.

    making performance parts readily available.

    inlcuding many turbos.

in stock form you can't beat the fit and finish, or reliability.

  • I like the old one better. I have an 06.

  • look like camry

  • nice car
