Very nice. I smoke shoulders for pulled pork. An electric smoker makes it easy to turn out consistently good meat. I don't miss charcoal. Thanks for a great video!
Sure looks good to me, Jason. If you can duplicate that every time, the competition should beware! I wish you the best of luck on the circuit. That's got to be some good fun.
So are you going to enter the ones for money or just for the fun? They are having one here in April at the minor league baseball stadium. It was pretty good last year but the weather wasn't great. I was not a competitor but I did work in a BBQ restaurant for 5 years and that looks great. Georgia is probably like here in NC, we have a lot of bbq to choose from.
@pantherfan3763 Well most of the competitions I'm entering in have both Professional and "Backyard" or Amateur categories. I'll be entering mostly in the Backyard categories. They cost less to enter, but there is still some prize money. This year is more about getting my feet wet and having fun. Thanks for watching!
14dollarz im a kcbs judge something I see aot of is not just the chunks as you refer to them, but teams will often form the pulled pork into a small ball (looks like they almost used an icecream scoop) that is visual pleasing while also having the slices like yours. Very pretty pork
Wow, fantastic work!! Please post all your work this summer, I'm anxious to see how you do. I'm going to be getting into smoking in the next couple of months, and your videos are fantastic reference material! Keep up the great meat!
@densuzmor Yes i'm glad too :). Nothing better than having to practice cooking BBQ. Going to be doing a full competition practice video this weekend where I cook all night. Should be fun :).

do you use the Masterbuilt electric smoker anymore?

@wscheuer I actually sold it about 3 months ago. It was a great smoker to start out with and temp control was super easy.
