The 5 link suspension on jeeps is superior to land rovers radius arm front suspension for articulation and traction. have I been on both sides of the fence. I owned and modified defenders for 8 years and my dad has had range rovers since 1970. I got a JK Unlimited 2 years ago and have NEVER looked back. Land Rovers are overpriced and the fanboys are brainwashed. I Love Both Brands But jeeps are NOT worse than Land Rovers. Both Vehicles have there strengths and weaknesses.

My Discovery is at 282,000 and still going strong. Main problem is rust, I had to do some work to the rear boot floor and other usual places. Other than that, solid as a rock. Engine runs great. She's off-roaded too, plus she tows a caravan, so she doesn't get a life of luxury. I'd say that's pretty good going?

We own a 1996 cherokee sport and we've abused that thing since the day we bought it.....when it was new and it has outlasted pretty much every other SUV or truck we've owned since then cause jeeps are built to last.....anyways what I'm trying to say is that Jeeps and Land Rovers are both great offroad.

Well i know that all cars have their problems, but jeep has been around for nearly 70 years. I dont know if that means anything to you but it sure is saying something to me. I have 3 jeeps and 1 is 61 years old. It has been through all kind of off roading and has been rebuild 3 times since 1948. It also is a daily driver. It is a all stock CJ2A. I think if you want a real off roading vehicle the Old Willys Flatfinder is the way to go.

Its 61 years old. hum? 1st rebuild was in the 60s. Rebuilds today for a 134 L 60 horse power Go Devil willys Jeep engine cost around $1500, if you build it yourself. I know that the old land rovers were and are old tuff trucks too and probley would equal a old Jeep off road. lol I just like old stuff... I guess thats what im trying to say.

Kid your a moron. The 5.7 Hemi is a V8 not a V6. And The 5.7 has more Torque than the rovers V8 which is better for offroad situations. The 5.7 isnt even the top engine either. The 6.1 Hemi is available in the GC and it throws down 420hp and 420lbft normally aspirated where as the rover needs a supercharger just to get 400hp out of that piece so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

You go to the dealer, take out a brand new Jeep and put it against a band new LR no modifications made. You tell me which does better in the offroading. Briang is also quite right that they do sometimes suffer reliability problems. Interestingly more faults are because of poor assembly than actual design or material faults, leaving those who assemble them to blame. :/
