Sadly this could have been so different - the courts in the USA have upheld again and again that THE COPS DON'T HAVE TO RESPOND. There was even a case where woman was being raped, she was screaming, 2 women kept calling 911. Things went quiet, the 2 women assumed the cops had arrived. The cops weren't there (they never arrived), but the attackers were. They attacked the 2 women. The courts said that the cops didn't have to respond. BUY A GUN

Duh! The perps were black, and the media don't want to perpetuate "stereotypes!"
