Erm, why would you use a modchip when you don't have to?

No need to take the box apart, use a soldering iron (unless you use the more expensive solderless chip) or do anything remotely technical.

And the results are exactly the same....

I have a softmodded 1tb HDD with custom partition layout, custom BIOS and 128meg of RAM. My F and G drives are equal size instead of having F be up to 137GB and G be the rest. FATX partitions are up to 512GiB with 32KiB clusters. Splitting the remaining space on the disk in half (after C/E/X/Y/Z are created) has ensured that neither F nor G are over 512GiB and thus my 1tb drive works fine after formatting with 32kb clusters.
