I always loved this tune (and everything else by Antonio Carlos Jobim). I've heard it played jazzy, but never bluesy (not to mention the little Gershwin-esque/classical bit you threw in toward the end). Interesting and clearly skillful rendition. Thanks for this.
i'm not sure about this.. sorry... your left hand almost plays in a stride style during the improvisation... why? why not just leave out the bass and play modal fourths wit the left? also, i think your choice of harmonies are a little dated, after the major 7 opening chord of the track the second chord should go up a tone and become a minor 7 b5... just a suggestion, thats all...
Very inspired indeed to have made such an accomplished blues rendition of this classic!
