I find it hilarious that the guy in the green hat is making fun of Maher and says that he did research and knows that Maher did not go to a good college. Maher received his B.S. in English from Cornell in '78. This means that either green hat guy thinks that Regents is better than Cornell, or the conservative students at Regents are too scared of the internet to do a Google search correctly.

Yea, Regent is bad. Forget the competitions that we have won over Harvard, Yale, etc. Forget the well above average bar passage rate that continues to grow. Forget the well educated staff that have degrees from many of the Ivy League schools and were at the top of their class. Forget that we're in the top for quality of life. Regent is not in the top Tier, but it is a young school, and its reputation is growing. To stereotype an entire group, not even specific to this situation, shows blindness.

I chose to attend Regent Law and I definitely had my pic of upper Tiered law schools. I felt Regent was the school for me. And despite what some people think, everyone at Regent does not believe in God (I do), Mr. Robinson does not come into class preaching like its the 700 club, and Regent like any law school is hard work. Unfortunately there have been a few graduates that ended up in compromising situations. However, that behavior is not representative of Regent. That is an individual issue.

In defense of Regent Law, we have extraordinarily well educated law professors. Many have law degrees from Harvard (and a few of them graduated top of their class), University of Virginia, Georgetown, and Yale, just to name a few. The school is Tier 4 because it is approximately 23 years old. Regent's lack of history certaintly did not take away it's ability to beat Harvard and other law schools in Moot Court and other national competitions. It is a good school working to be better.

The average LSAT score at Regent is 153. The median LSAT score of all test takers is about 150-151. In other words, the overall quality of students is low. No way to escape that fact.

Regent has the same problem all T4, T3, T2, and lets be honest, all law schools outside the top 20 (or 14) have - it charges too much for a rather worthless degree. The difference between the Regent starting salary and a top law school is $100,000. Regent students, with very few exceptions, will not be getting the 160k biglaw jobs.

In this economy, one should think twice about going to law school. Unless you are going to a top school or have a full scholarship at a decent school, don't go.
