I'd start small cause it's a high kv motor, start at 10-12 tooth. See how it's runs. Don't want to cook it first off. Depends what track it's on, whether you need heaps of punch and acceleration between bends or top end for an open track. If your continuously hitting the gas you'll cook it with a too big pinion.
hey mate i just bought a d4 buggy and im going to race it.I have a 8.5t hobby wing brushless system and 5500 30c lipos.what pinion should i run to stop it over heating? Cheers
i called my local hobbie store in cali any where from 400 to 430 us dollors.. but i got one off creglist.. for dirt cheep.. and built my own.. yes i got lipos.. i got 1 k of race parts on my car.. got it for 200 bucks ;)..
Mine cost about 400 AUD. As for the speed, it depends what engine and battery your using. I am running a Novak XBR 8.5 T brushless with a Trak Power 3200 7.4v Lipo
then which is the fastest rc car in the hot bodies cyclone series and how fast does the cyclone s run per hour and is it worth buying pls reply thanks
Well the on road cyclone will be fastest, I had a Pro 4 by HPI which is pretty similar, just a bit older and with the same set up that i have in the D4 I was doing about 120km/h
i thought the smalles you could run was 16t with them? my ratio is 12.1875?what do you think about that?

Good job on this vid :)
I would by one, " BUT " Im going too wait for a 1/8 version :) :) .
Its good you did this for your friend.
Good luck !

Thanks...
Are they making a 1/8 electric, I know they have a 1/8 nitro version the D8.
I dont think a 1/8 electric version would be as good, it wouldn't be as economical and it would be too expensive.
