  • If it's not with the original members it's not funny. I want Eric, John, Michael, Terry J and Terry G!

  • I SEEK POLE SHIFT SURVIVAL GROUP.

  • The "Michael Palin" looks just like the real !!!

  • Eric Idle is the Paul McCartney of COMEDY!!!

  • This needs to be released on DVD. Seriously - Python, Alan Tudyk and Jeff Davis together? Nerdgasm!

  • is there ANY WAY to watch a video of the entire performance? i'm dying to see it! D:

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ALAN TUDYK!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • @Kaladelia zomg Alan Tudyk!

  • No question, just sing and smile and hope no one taunts you to death... :) Eric Idle's awesome. No question there.

  • Jeff! AND Eric Idle? Best show ever! AAAAAAlbatross! :D

  • @wlliafangirl Haha! Absolutely. When I saw him in the Spanish inquisition uniform, I laughed because of the line "NO ONE expects the Spanish inquisition!" and my head said to me "Oh, I didn't expect Jeff Davis".

  • Monty Python Forever!!!!!!!!! SLB

  • See, this is the only reason I hate being in Australia. We never get EPIC shows like this with the awesome cast.

If something like this were to ever come to Australia, we'd get a new 'aussie' cast. I don't want an Aussie cast. I want the cast that I see right there on my computer screen. *pouts*

  • intercourse the penguin...

  • why don't the other pythons put into too? like John Cleese ect?

  • first a priest in killer pad then a pope in this when is jeff going to be a rabbi

  • Can I be in the next Evening Without Monty Python? I just will not do the Lumberjack Song, it is my least favourite Monty Python sketch

  • I almost shit my pants when he said "Jeff Davis". That man is still beautiful, even in his late 30's...

  • @AChimpNamedSlickback

    HaHahaha :)

    :P

  • @AChimpNamedSlickback

I don't think I could have said it any better myself.

  • ...I can honestly say I was not expecting Jeff Davis as a member of the Spanish Inquisition.

  • lol the description

    "book now to ass..."

  • Mr Praline sounds just like the Lord John Cleese in the Parrot Sketch! :D

  • I think the show needs the original python actors! They are AMAZING!

  • Hey look its Steve the Pirate.

  • ALAN TUDYK!!

  • Eric, I love you, and I love the Pythons. But honestly, you CAN make other, non-Python things, you know. If you filmed yourself eating a steak and potatoes for two hours and released it on DVD, people would buy it, simply because it's you. Really.

  • @sturmraist50 i would buy it

  • Why?

  • I subscribed just because you're Monty Python, I haven't even seen the entire video yet

  • I wish I'd been able to catch the show.

  • Well at least the moneys going to a good cause. They're all living in rolled up newpapers these days. Apart from John Cleese who can be seen prositituting himself on a regular basis in films like Pink Panther2.

  • "Enough of this Gay Banter!" HAhaahahhaha one of the funniest lines ever uttered...

  • One of those guys really reminds me of Michael Palin... only, slightly younger than he is now :S

  • @0FireMaiden0 Yes the one who plays Eric. One of them reminds me of Eric Idle only slightly older than he was back then .

  • I don't like the name that much... What about "A week without a week without Monty Python?" (pretty true, since it hasn't arrived here in Underdowns yet)

    Or;

"Monty Python's Day Off?" (Over thirty years?)

    Or;

"What is the square root of three hundred and fourteen divided by the standard deviation of the mean of the average housekeeping wage in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) times x?"

    Or;

"An overly long -" oh, forget it.

P.S. If I say I own your stuff on DVD, will you reply?

  • Will this be coming to the UK?

  • Will this be coming to the UK?

  • "book early to assure dissapointment." hahahahaha, classic python-esque. <3

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HAVE THIS COME TO CALGARY CANADA!!!! I MISSED SPAMALOT AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS!!!!

It's the one thing me, my mom, and my dad all agree on, Monty Python = The BEST

  • monty python was,is,and always will be the best commedy,FOREVER,but it could only be played correctly with the original actors!!!

  • But that is the thing, someday the original actors will pass away, and scientists have proven that only then will Global Warming take place.

  • Alan Tudyk was an excekkent choice, he's a really funny guy. I really admire the Monty Python group, wonderful group of talented old guys. Good, old fashioned British humor, that as an American, I was unfortunate to not experience enough. I definetly would like to meet any of them, I could probabley get some good directing advice.

  • I think it needs John Cleese...

  • @SFGsam Ha Ha Ha my sentiment exactly.

  • so, it's basically a live python show with none of the original cast; all new actors? cool!

  • lol

  • the woman is the most authentic of them all :D

  • Bring it to New Zealandddd!!!!! Please :)

  • Ha! Jane Leeves' first film role was in "Meaning of Life" wearing the same costume as in 0:51! Ha!

  • lumberjack song!

  • Was there was a penguin on the teli?

  • Ah, good times with the Python troupe. I am eagerly searching the 'net to see if this show is available on DVD. I wonder if it would come shipped with an albatross. . .

XD Happy 40th, Monty Python! May your Crunchy Frog never go stale!

  • eric idle you rock dude :)

  • Alan Tudyk is a great choice for this. Very funny guy and he did very well as Wash in Firefly. Awesome job Eric.

  • I can't watch this without smiling ~ I'm heartbroken to have found out about it so late.

Is it too much to hope that you would bring the show and cast up to Toronto? Will it be released on DVD?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey! It's Wash from Firefly.

  • you guys made my childhood wonderful! thanks for being so funny and original!

  • why??

it doesn't look funny at all!

Does Eric Idle need the money so bad?

I can watch all the brilliant python-stuff on DVD.

  • hi! my name is Victor Castilla (as his own word it indicates) i'm one of your best spanish admirer (I hope that it won't be evident for my English) and i'd love see your videos with spanish subtitles, are you thinking in make your youtube channells in another language? thanks! and happy day of the sock!

  • Alan Tudyk is in this, I am a huge fan brilliant! Very chancy of Mr. Idle to pick Tudyk, the other actors I can understand, quite capable and no doubt very funny. But Tudyk! Well that's a whole nother league, there is a chance he will outshine the original Python cast. I don't think Mr. Idle would put up with that. You can just tell what a small and professionally jealous man Idle is in this video, practically leering with jealous derision at Tudyk's talent. Look at him, he just hates Tudyk.

  • wish i couldve seen this!!! happy 40 years monty python!

  • That one guy looks disturbingly alot like a young Michael Palin.

  • ALAN!

Gah...wish it could have come to Seattle. (*wink wink nudge nudge* We don't get anything funny here.

    :(

Love the "Bruce's" and of course "Dead Parrot Sketch."

    Great stuff as usual!

  • Wow, there appears to be a lot of arguing going on here.

And now for something completely different:

OH MY GOD, ITS JEFF DAVIS! 8D

  • And who is this Jeff Davis? It would be good to know the director and this actress names.

  • Ever heard of a show called Whose Line is it Anyway? Probably my favorite comedy show ever. These four people improvise scenes right off the top of their heads using stuff suggested by the audience. Jeff featured in about 2 episodes of the US version, but if you check out Drew Carey's Green Screen Show (which is virtually the same as Whose Line, only with animation built around it) you can really see him in action. He's a very funny - and dare I say it, rather gorgeous - bloke. Hope that helped!

  • Now it is more clear. As I have read it's British radio programme. But somehow very strange that they dare to make fun from such things. Who knows maybe it is funny, if I would know the idea. But these plastic tits... I was shocked at first. If she wouldn't have wings, it would be better.

  • I'm sorry, but is English not your native language? Only I'm not too sure what you're going on about, although that might just be me - sorry!

  • Actually, Jeff was in 9 episodes, lol!

  • Well, I'll be damned. Thanks for correcting me :)

  • It'ssomething wrongnot only with YouTube users, but YouTube too. Because it don't accept comment NEGATIVE voting!!! of all these... freaks, Munusturbo, kiwifreundin, kiler0ed, YouKnowWhereThisEnds, ezazahas and so on. The same as plus fro anoimas777.

  • And several butchers aprons.

  • I'm jealous to those how can see this show in the US!

Any plans that the show is coming to Europe as well?

    PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!

  • I can't believe me and my nephew missed out on this. :(

  • ALBATROSS!

  • I saw this in NYC, and it was AMAZING!!

  • I want you!

    Kisses.

  • I saw your channel.

    You are a freak.

You're the only person who will flag this so nothing will come of it you Eurotrash weirdo.

  • Who the fuck cares? It's not pornography, the woman's breasts aren't real, get over it.

Oh, and also, people with the IQ of their shoe size shouldn't be allowed to comment on here, so please kindly click that red X on the top of your internet browser. Thank you.

  • You're intolerant, narrow minded and possibly very sheltered.

    Fuck off.

  • Bruce, I mean Burt - I was there tonight as well! I was especially impressed at how many looks John Cleese came up with.

It was a grand celebration. 400 years of Python - VERY impressive!

  • I saw the show tonight. These Python guys look younger than ever. Terry Jones' sex change is especially impressive, and may I say: he's got rather lovely legs. But, of course, these weren't the Python guys at all..., just a very talented cover band, er, cover comedy troop. The show was short but funny, not unlike Danny DeVito. Oh, and that Jane Leeves, she does has rather lovely legs.

  • Mundane: Ha! You said 'funily'!

    Idle: No I didn't!

    Mundane: Whot!? You just did!

Idle: Must have been the wind...

    Mundane: In a closed set!?

    Idle: Don't judge me!

    Mundane: E- ...a- ...

    [Awkward Silence]

    Mundane: You did you know...

    Idle: You lie!

  • "An evening without Monty Python

    Book early to assure disappointment"

    awesome :D

  • Is anyone else having problems loading this video? This upload is painfully slow and reminds me of the dial-up days.

  • i'm going to the show on friday in ny!!!

  • Darn. I doubt you could come out to Australia?

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTY PYTHON PEOPLE!

  • Alan as Cleese: Holy crap, what CAN'T that guy do?!

  • I was at one of the LA performances. The material still plays well after all these years, and with a younger cast of skilled performers. I think it proves the genius behind this comedy is not just a fluke, but a masterpiece that will endure for generations. I attended the 9/25 show.

Notes: 1- the audience had a mixed vibe. Some didn't get "it"

2-a couple bits didn't quite make the grade, but some hit it out of the park, including Sillywalks, Nudge Nudge and Albatross. Over all great show!!

  • This is nothing against the actors, some of who are great, but Monty Python sketches performed by anyone but the Pythons spells instant embarrassment to me. It's like going to see a cover band play Zappa or something, it just is not going to work without the people who created it.

  • Unless it's Zappa plays Zappa lol...

They performed cool here in Vilnius, believe me, Dweezil and the band were fabulous.

However, I agree with you, I can't see any possibility for MP to be replayed by non-Python individuals.

  • I know exactly what you mean: Somehow I would prefer to listen to the worst cover of my most favourite band or to watch a mediocre remake of a movie masterpiece than watch anyone else but the original Pythons perform their sketches! I am sorry, Eric... but since you do not seem to tour Germany anyway...

  • Yeah, does this seem like paying to watch people do the very thing you did with your friends in middle school onward? What next, Ben Elton producing a stage show of The Young Ones done by younger ones? That'd be far and away from "Completely Brilliant."

  • I have something to say:

    "Cucurrucucúuuuuuu, palomaaaaaa"

    And that's all.

  • Good pick. Alan just happens to be one of my favorite actors of all time.

  • Eric Idle is still handsome...

  • Bring it to Australia!!!! XD LOVE YOU ALL!!!

  • Happy Anniversary, Misters Python.

Thanks for making life a brighter place to be.

  • Theraptureright: When you're stupid, there's nothing that can be done.

  • How about COME TO THE UK!!!!!! pleeeeeaseee we brits need our old comedy back it's dying under american sitcoms

  • Hey theraptureright. You're Mrs Thick Thick Thickity thick from Thicktown, Thickania

    Aha

  • Nice to metube, aha ^_^

    I made a pune

  • I did not get your point..

....no I dont think I share your bizzare opinion at all.

What does rapture mean in your name. and "rapetureright" ?

    RIP

  • hahahahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • I dearly hope this is a joke because it is hilarious.

  • theraptureright: shut the hell up and you're going to fail at that project because if it does work i'll send out 2 million copies to young children and get them hooked. So shove that in your super Christian ass!!!

  • I believe that you're over analyzing things. No one cares about the name. However, people would care if you shut your trap.

  • Anti-anything is just in the eye of the beholder. Joking about something isn't being a sinner as much as giving a funny homage to the human condition, including religion.

And good luck with removing freedom of speech, the very cornerstone of democracy from every single western country then.

Banning humor is just silly and a waste of time better put on say, saving kids in the third world from starving to death. I mean if you do care about good and evil there's a righteous cause for you.

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

  • Damn, you actually discovered the hidden meaning behind Monty Python's name! You super holy Christian halo-headed lightbringers must be super-genious as well! Well done indeed! :D Maybe I'll convert to Christianity from Pythonism right away...

  • Happy 40th Birthday to the wonderful best nonsense-poducers in the world! You are the best!

  • i pee in butts

  • Spamalot!

  • Happy birthday Monty Python :D 40years

  • The Impotence of Beating Idle: In which, Eric is beaten roughly about the head by members of Oasis dressed as floppy cocks.

  • Thank you for all the silliness, gents.

  • Its a shame this is only showing in LA and New York. If this came anywhere in Texas I would be there in a heartbeat, with friends.

  • I never rated Idle.

Look what he's got on for fuck sake.

    A bin bag..

  • This is great Mr. Idle, so glad you are keeping Monty Python alive.

    Love you all

  • Nothing like the original.

  • i know from a good sorce that monty python couldn't do it as good as they did once, give him the credit that he made the effort, and besides look at the title

  • Bravo Mr.Idle, cast, and crew. Bravo.

  • I just returned from LA where I was fortunate enought ot see this show! It was awesome. The actors all do a great job and they really make the skits their own. They're not copying the original actors, they doing it a new way. I love it!!

  • I agree with you entirely! I'm fortunate enough to live in LA, so I've been able to see it numerous times. I saw it opening night, once last weekend, this past Thursday, and am planning on returning to see it close tomorrow. With that said, I've seen the actors and the show progress. Every time there's been something different-- someone brings a little something new every time. Kudos to everyone involved and I hope it does just as well in NY!

  • Wish I could see it, unfortunately, I am FAR. AWAY.

  • Alan Two Dick? What's he need two for? We all just have the one. Sometimes, not so much.

  • I never knew that Alan Tudyk did shows with Monty Python. I know him from Firefly/Serenity so it is kind of strange as I will always think of him in the role of Wash, but I suppose that Python suits his character, same type of humor. Funny stuff, connecting two of the best shows I have ever seen.

  • Bah! As a huge fan of Monty Python, but this is bad stuff... why recreate what was perfect in the good old days?! It can never compete with the original stuff anyway!, It's a shame that people never create anything new and original anymore - everything is remake this and remake that! Where is the creativity!??!?!

  • Agreed! I even believe that "And Now For Something Completely Different" (1971) Killed the originality of Flying Circus. I mean, I love the Circus, No matter how many times I the episodes, they always make me bust a gut with laughter, but you can never beat the original, EVER!

  • oh i wish they would have this in more places then just LA and NYC : ( i really love the monty python the original reels. i would absolutely love to see this!!!! only if they'd come closer to TN.

  • I was so lucky to wiew An evening with John Cleese yesterday, and i loved it! It was good to see him in real life, and hear about his career. Just, fantastic.

  • "This 'Monty Python chap', - is he one of ours?" - M Thatcher

  • It's not fair that it's only in America ): England had them first *whines about unfairness*

  • Yes, and we thank you profusely for lending them to US.

  • Well.. Well..

That makes it a little better.

    Look after them! (:

  • I'm sure Jane was thrilled to get to wear the santa boob outfit again...26 years after her first time!

  • I love you eric, you're my role model and favorite comedian!

    =)

  • Spam, Spam, Spam.... Bury, Spam, Spam , Spam. Nice...

  • Say no more!

  • Phew! Bet that a job and a half, ma'am!

  • Hey, Eric, here is an idea: nail Feloniousbutterfly to the wall!

  • Has anyone seen this show on stage? I cannot imagine that this would work with American actors/comedians and from this cast I only know Frasiers Jane Leeves: does anyone know if all the actors are British as well?

  • Alan Tudyk is American. He was Wash the pilot on Firefly and Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball the Movie!

  • Im going

  • feloniousbutterfly- 99% of what comes out of Hollywood today is rehash of old stuff. Remakes, re-envisions, and blatant rip-offs abound, you flaming tartuffe- SO GET OVER IT!!!

  • When is it coming to London, Eric?

  • Monty Python is rthe best comedy ever. Love you Eric

  • Eric Idle, why have you spent your career rehashing Monty Python stuff? Do something new you great preening palimpsest.

  • 1: Tam - Grow up. Monty Python is timeless and never goes stale.

2: I just read the profile page for the first time with the rant about people ripping off videos. Which makes me wonder, how do you feel, Mr. Idle, about things like "Star Trek VS Monty Python" where we see Kirk singing about Camelot?

  • omg thats eric

  • Bloody hell Eric, can't you think of any new sketches? Those are all well past their sell by date now. It would have been like you lot doing a tribute to Flanagan and Allen in the late 60's.

Just coining it in until the well runs dry eh?

  • I really want to see this.

  • I ReALLY hope this will be on DVD later on and I REALlY hope the line "Is this the right room for an argument?" will be included :D

  • It honestly doesn't seem quite the same without John Cleese...

Though, Jeff looks like he will be good :D

  • Eric, you should come to Wisconsin! But, you might freeze... :(

  • an ex-parrot!

  • I wish they'd come to Portland or Seattle. That would be cool... or if the show was filmed and shown on PBS! I would enjoy that as well.

  • ok.. this is youtube.. monty python can haf a website, I dont care, but WTF!??!?! U2B IS FOR DA PPL! NOT FOR SOME FUCKING BRITISH GAY ASS MOFOKIN NOT FUNNY ASSHOLE! -.-

  • watch monty python sketches and you'll see how hilarious they are compared to some american guy talking about computers

these have talent you do not so U2B as you put it isnt for you

  • dude, monty python has NO talent, ive seen those "funny walking" shit and the petstore, etc, they all suck! besides, he had his time on TV etc, its called youtube broadcast URSELF! not "lets put out companys name on a channel and make SHIT videos and ruin everything for everyone" its the same thing as having milye cirus having a public u2b channel, she would not have ANY subs if she wasnt owned by disney, youtube is for REGULAR ppl with TALENT so go QQ at ur moms house,

  • so why are you crying at people with talent? your just gonna get slaughtered for it

seriously why search it if you dont like it are you THAT thick?

  • u dont haf to search for stuff on youtube.. tard, u can click the videos on the right side of the screen, the one with "more from that person" or the "videos like this one" or w/e

    tard

  • so why watch it if you said youd seen the sketches and not liked them before

1 either you are sad and want to get known on youtube

2 you are so lonely the only form of communication you can get is by leaving pointless comments on youtube in hope for a reply

3 you actually do enjoy the sketches and felt the need to watch all their vids

i reckon its 2 but i really dont know

  • the reason is actually a very simple one, tard

I hate that ppl like monty python is trying to get attention in ANY way possible, he makes commercials! COMMERCIALS! THATS JUST PATHETIC! and they only made this channel because they didnt like that their scetches were being uploaded by others, but thats what youtube is for, sharing YOUR intrests, but if he does it himself HE is the lonely person who doesnt feel like hes getting enought attention by the media so he turns to us! PERIOD!

  • well dont watch their vids and leave stupid comments

and so what if they advertise their sketches and live shows, without advertisements there'd be no U2B since 90% of their revenue is made by advertising space so really just go away and watch videos you like and stop wasting yours, mine and any other persons time reading this

    you understand?

  • ok, u think my comments are stupid? the comments and ratings are made so that ppl can express themselves, tell the one who owns the channel what they think! thats why you CAN comment and why you CAN rate! and btw, if IM wasting time and u think its silly, then why respond and try to prove me wrong, isnt that just as bad as what im doing then? just because im the one who doesnt like it doesnt mean that ppl will like readin ur comments more, so just shut up tard
