very creative.. i've trying a similar home project for my son; he has an Insufferable passion for flight (wants to be a pilot)... :)

i was thinking of using a simple flight sim game (and benefit from the graphics and sounds) and then actually implement some (not all) the game controls (ie inputs keys) to the game from improvised controls.... any ideas?? :)

Ive been wanting to build one of these for a long time, but I am only fourteen so it aint like i got the money and stuff to do it, and nobody really listens to me as if it could actually be done. But everytime I go to an airport to fly somewhere, I always brag that I know what is happening in the cockpit when everyone else doesnt care lol!

How come there isn't really any ATC between you and the tower on much of your videos? Normally when I use FS2004 i have to contact ground when exit the runway.

@jrd1461 I don't think that is even close. I have started building one, still in the planning stages, and I am estimating 50 - 60k to get it as good as this one. I have only bought the Capt. seat so far and that was over $1000, and thats cheap. My seat is authentic from a 737NG, it's an IPECO seat. Just the P-5 panel (from open cockpits) will run you almost $4500. I might be a little high with 50 -60k but I expect to be near that by the end, if there really is an end to this project!

Looks like about the only thing missing is the feeling of being pitched back when taking off and banking. If you could put all that stuff on hydraulics, it'd be just like flying a real plane as long as you didn't look back - and even then you could replicate the entire cabin so that when you get in and close that back door there is almost no difference between flying a real plane and using this. That would all probably be insanely costly even compared to whatever all this cost...but even cooler!

I don't know? I often see people spending a lot of money on hardware for FS and then completely forgetting the importance of a good sound system (in my opinion). Sorry for asking...

I think this guy has a good enough sound system. Have you look at some of his other one?

@michelarjuna The sound system is pretty good. It's 3 channels of stereo sound (engine roar, runway rumble, other sounds from the rear; windscreen/avionics sounds from behind the MIP and aural alerts/atc from the overhead speakers mounted behind the cockpit liners). The main audio channel for engine sounds has a large subwoofer mounted under the pedestal. The immersion is pretty good, if I say so myself!
