  • these cars our soooo dirty. i have a fa5 civic si, but damn, these things make some serious moves for the price. i won't hang with a trifecta tuned one of these without boosting like 8+ psi... which consequently would cost like 5 grand for it to be halfway reliable

  • No that's normal. I have a cobalt ss. And its mph. Not kph. They are capable of even higher but the car has a top speed limit to protect the drive train and tires. Lol

    SS/TC is limited to 155 stock. The SS/SC is 157. Even with the limiter raised well beyond that (As HBSSTC has), the engine will stop pulling at 160 due to drag/gearing.

  • Nice! I must admit, as a very proud DSM owner, Cobalt SS/TC is one of few cars i won't even step to. Their just too fuckin mean.

  • i wish my car was fast....i got my friends SS up to about 120-125ish on a roadtrip and i must say it was pretty fun. wish we had a spot to top it out though.

  • @HBSSTC The speedometre ends at 160 mph. It might go faster, but you'll never know unless u install an after market one.

  • get a stage kit or up ur rev limiter u can go about 147 in 4th then. then takes no time to get to 160. i had mine going around 165ish

  • the motors built from the factory. the gm stage kit will warrenty it. 700rpms more really isnt nothing. but do w e u want. but i didnt have any prob when mine was semi stock. cant say that anymore now

  • I don't think it can really handle high revs from the factory I had to rebuild the engine once already. rpms were set to 7K at the time.

  • @tomjw7 These engines for some reason burn the pistons and the rings with a aftermarket tune and parts. I know, because im having mine rebuilt now. Back to stock for me

  • @notluzn let me guess, u were running over 25psi boost?? everyone that i know that blew a ring was running 25+ psi boost, there were one or 2 that blew pistons even on stock tune, but that would just be defective motor, but most blew em with the infiniboost tune. which is stupid in my opinion on any stock internal car.

  • @tomjw7 It was at 25 PSI. Just make sure to pull all mods off to get warranty work.

  • @notluzn they have to prove the mod caused the problem, and i dont gave a gay dealership, they dont care if i have mods, they've seen em, only thing id put back is stock downpipe, and stock tune, im a dealer, so i can do it myself. i dont use tune much, just to do a quick run now and then. im on 22psi, if gms1 can survive that, then so can mine. lol

  • @notluzn man the dealer I work at doesn't really care. The techs and service advisors get paid for warranty work why would they push it away? Granted warranty doesn't pay as well, time is time.

  • you must have a freak ss sc. cause i know many many people that just do stage kits and have no problems what so ever with the increasing the rev limit
