There's an obvious anime animation style influence, which is nice. See the credits for further confirmation. That said, the guy that did Venkman's voice also did the voice of Garfield in the Garfield cartoon. And then Bill Murray did the voice of Garfield in the live action movies...weird.

i think because people would make confuse him with peter since he already has that elvis hair. this was explained in an episode why they looked so different--turns out these are the "real" ghostbusters and there is an actual ghostbusters movie about them that they're aware of.
