  • How did you make that animated background? I've seen some for winblows but most of them are ad-driven. How did you do it in Ubuntu? I'm using 7.04.

  • snow plugin with a custom texture :D

  • there is now an even better plugin called Elements for compiz that can simulate some more involved physics with whatever texture you choose :D

  • IBM Laptops are no low

  • Graphics wise the IntelGFX based IBMs are fairly low end. All other components of em are more than enough most of the time. unless you try to use em as gaming riggs XD

    graphics should be awesome ^^

    I got a T60p and i don't get Compiz working with the ATI FireGL 5520

    Maybe you can give me a hint :)

  • At the time this video was made i was still on Feisty. with custom repos for Compiz Fusion.

    But i still remember how to set it all up :D.

    Currently i run ArchLinux Current on my Laptop.

  • Yeah i Upgraded recently on 7.10 and until then it doesn't work anymore :( the ATI FireGL 5520 is not supported. But ATI pronounced a new Driver for the ATI FireGL 5520 on Linux. So i will wait :)
