the guy only wrote it because john mayer twitters alot, and he posted it on his profile saying he was going to perform at the hotel cafe, be thankful he put the video up
to (lukeee89) you're very right, but even though he's opening up door ways for 15 year olds, including myself, people have to have the guts to play blues.
this guys good and all, but he has no balls. he's such a bitchcake it's not even funny. i mean he's talented and all, but he could be putting that talent to use instead of plucking away at his acoustic guitar and slowly watching his manhood drift away on the melodies he plays.
You're an idiot, drummer, Mayer has toured (and is doing an album right now) in a trio including Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan, both legends, and they make incredible music. John Mayer has done more for music in this decade than anyone I can think of, and all this is besides the point, as his acoustic guitar playing, which you hate so much, is absolutely brilliant. He does more with an acoustic guitar and his voice than most people do with a 5 man band.
No balls? Really? He plays damn good acoustic guitar and covers a great song. And he puts his talent to good use in many ways. Meetmeeattheshipment said it perfectly I couldn't agree more.
you people really make a lot of judgements just from my opinion. just because i want peace does not have anything to do with smoking weed.
and just because of my opinion on john mayer, i'm not going to get anywhere in life? what does that mean? people who don't like acoustic guitar can't be succesful. I'm going to be a politician one day, and i'll be sure to badmouth john mayer all the way to the white house. when you see a politician with dreadlocks, that's me. look for me in about 15 years.
Okay, explain what his manhood (or lack thereoff) has anything to do with being talented in playing an acoustic. And explain how he's wasting his talent. He's doing it damn good, isn't he? So, not wasting.
he's boxing himself into one genre. sure acoustic guitar is great, but he has so much talent that he could put to use in reggae, jazz, fusion, rock, folk, country, or hell, even metal music. but he sticks to his indie rock and makes himself only appealing to one genre of listeners. a true musician breaks down genre barriers, something that he has failed at conclusively. maybe he has his manhood or whatever (that words meaning is murky) but he doesn't have the qualities of a great musician.
He plays much acoustic, but also on his electrics, blues and jazz a lot. And even if he didn't, your point is off. That he chooses to play more acoustic (not true) doesn't mean he's wasting talent; he's rather using it for something that doesn't have your preference. Last time I checked, he had a great and diverse following. Back to your first comment. It is still total bullshit. You didn't revenge as well as you could have in your replies. I am glad tho you admit the word 'manhood' was 'murky'.
I don't dislike acoustic guitar. I merely think that it is illogical to stick to such a small range of music. Maybe he's not exactly wasting his talent, but he's not utilizing it to his full capabilities. he's boxed himself in.
and i say manhood is murky because most people think that watching football, eating steak and having a beer gut is manly. well i'm a vegetarian, i prefer non-competitive sports and i don't drink alcohol. i still have a penis though, and i'm sure John Mayer does too.
fuck man. talk about boxing yourself in with your own comments. "true musicians break down genre barriers." great call. but fuck learn what you're talking about. John has broken down huge musical barriers. when was the last time you ever saw a guy playing blues guitar sell out every stadium on a two year tour playing only blues and rock? talk about introducing an entire generation to the great guitar legends. now every 15 year old knows BB's, buddy's, and SRV's songbooks. u couldn't ask for more
hes not boxing himself in with an acoustic guitar. he called chapter 3 continuum for a reason you know. people were saying how he was acoustic and no hes electric and they like the old sound and such and he says everything is just a continuation. expect more acoustic on battle studies. but i guarantee hes not a man that will play a song consisting of an Am, E, G, and C. john always put twists on things that cannot be replicated
ive only seriously seen john mayer use the standard open C chord one time. he uses SRV and Jemi Hendrix chord variations. His G is a variation of the G bar chord using his thumb, and muting the A string. This is why he sounds unique most of the time...
john doesnt and never has played indie indie means inderpendant you fool, he also has not played reggae jazz fusion << btw jazz fusion is one thing u twerp, and not folk country or metal he plays in your face blues, i fool, and sorry but in 15 years you will still be online but u will be laughing at the next guitar god which is me
ok continuum had one acoustic song on it? and Try! the john mayer trio was a live blues album. obviously do not know what your talking about john mayer is a blues musician transformed from a pop. but considering his favorite things to cover are srv and jimi i do not think he is wasting his talent. good one
John plays what HE wants, not what other people want. If he feels like playing Jazz or Reggae he will but he doesn't want to. He plays what he likes, just like everyone else.
this is so much better than the studio version
John Mayer is a god bless

are you kidding me? the ultimate test of musical talent is One person alone on a stage with one instrument. Mayer excels at this....

Are you serious. Acoustic guitar is the manliest instrument there is. This man doesn't need a distortion pedal to have balls.

I bet John achieved more in his life than you will ever. And look who is no short of (female) attention. I bet that'll upgrade his manhood.
