  • my names katy they spell it totally diffierent but it works... lol... bnl... bathroom sessions... kinda funny that they really got started in a bathroom for those of you who didnt know...lol saw them live in nyc after steven page left and at the scotsdale arena in az before he left personally they r still great

  • Hey All Fans People Grow Apart.....Sometimes....and sometimes they Grow back..Together...These Brother's From another Mother.are Just taking some time to enjoy Life...I bet in time they realize how much fun they have together and have another Run at the Game..They Really Sound Good..sorry about my Soap Box..

  • this is funny cause my name is katie and i have a daughter haha

  • The thing that sucks is Steve left, but him and Ed made the band, thats why they sound so good together.

  • LMFAO My name's not Katie :)

  • hahaha my name is katie XD

  • LMAO my name is katie

  • i can't believe i missed their show like a month ago D:

  • @CANADA5UCKS What's with your username?

  • @Uratashi ironically, a BNL fan clearly does not like canada.

  • @rabidbunnies2 Yep, heh heh.....

  • We all miss Steven, but the band will be fine without him. I will miss stuff like these bathroom sessions the most.

  • I named my baby katie after this song, and BNL played my city the week she came so i had to miss them! Come back to newcastle!

  • Oh my gosh my name's Katie!!

  • This song sounds great with Jim singing Steve's part.

  • they're the best dancers.

  • I saw the on Fri 17.9.10 and I thought they were really poor. Ed needs to take over the lead singing completely and he needs to sing songs which suit his voice like Another postcard and bank job. They are still trying to be the same band and you simply cant replace a voice like Steves.

  • @garylambert44 I don't agree with that statement. They're just as good as they always were-- just in a different way. One of the Steve songs that Ed truly shines on is Old Apartment.

  • @bamapagedesign I agree. The Old Apartment is AMAZING when Ed does it. I still love BNL without Steve in the band. The only two songs I can't listen to without Steve are One Week and Million Dollars. They just don't sound right without Steve.

  • I saw them last night, they was still good with just the one lead singer, better live when I saw them with both but it could be as I was so young then.

  • A beautiful pair of voices doing an amazing harmony. And not digitally altered, it's truly fantastic the way they sing.

  • @adaarm acording to southpark japanese people dont have souls

  • 1:19 to 1:35 is my favorite part and 1:49 to 1:58

  • fuck the drugs,. sort shit out and get back together!!! love u all xx

  • I love this song.

  • Ya, this is why BNL rocks. Not a lot of stars that would take the time to do this for their fans.

  • haha i like that noise steve makes around 1:52

  • I agree their voices are just so wonderful together!

  • they inspired terrence and phillip from south park to

  • wish steven page was still in the band

  • @BakedPotatoable me too, but bands go through stages. Steven was a good addition, but you got to be strong! Show your support. Who knows, maybe he'll be back!

  • It's hard to not have fun watching these guys.

  • love this acoustic stuff! keep it up!

  • *****

  • freinds dont leave friends?

  • i heard about you guys on cbc , YOU ROCK. coming to montana?

  • Wow! That's a nice bathroom.

  • wow cant believe they broke up, their voices sound so good together (N) : (

  • @ehbabbeh they just released an album actually!

  • @ehbabbeh What? They've broken up???????

  • @boneyarsebogman No, they're still together - actually came out with a new album several months ago. Steve left, though.

  • haha, totaly bert and ernie! good call.

  • These guys amazing. They remind me of bert and earnie also.

  • Faaaark... I cant believe i have found this. Looks like im ganna chew up my internet usage in one hit.

    Man, you guys ROCK.

  • I hope you guys still get together and jam. I can't bear the thought of it otherwise.

  • Ed, write a song about "Lauren Day" :)

  • I love this song <3

  • Everytime I meet a gil named katie I think of this song!

  • this is the best song everrr....(: i absolutly love it saw it front row live at the mardi gras convert in universal orlandoo...the best band ever in my eyes (:

  • I'm from Alberta, and have seen these guys four times live. Tonight I'll see Steven Page solo at the folkfest. I just got to say, you guys will always be the best band and I will always be a fan of all of you. No matter whether your together or not. Keep it going, and thanks!

  • I'd have loved to hear an acapella song come from the 'Ladies. Too bad Steven's gone. :(

  • COme back pls!

  • very good blending of voices....that is why i like barenaked ladies....ayos.....

  • Love how you guys are having fun with this.. very cool.

  • come home steve plsss we love you sooo much

  • you guys are mega..keep it up and most of all, have a laugh

  • i love these guys :)

  • these guys just rock

  • my gf name is katie well thats her nick name and now i have this song stuck in my head

  • Gotta love the Guitar solo!

  • i got to see them live, front row in concert about a year ago in Ottawa Canada, awsome band and it was a great xmas present!

  • The 2nd and 3rd albums were just as good, if not better, than the first. Although I like pretty much everything these guys do, 1998's Stunt album was where they started to lose some of their trademark quirkiness.

  • Thank you. I'll give albums 2 and 3 another listen. Perhaps I was too hasty. I wasn't very keen on Stunt either.

  • To be fair, Stunt was a good album (to me at least), but I do agree, the good thing about their first three albums was they were just nuts, Enid?, jeez, what a song, and don't get me started on Grade 9 LOL, I think Maroon was their worst album, apart from Pinch Me, brilliant song

  • Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I love Maroon... Conventioneers, Sell Sell Sell, Humor of the Situation, Tonight is the Night I Fell Asleep at the Wheel, Powder Blue, Off the Hook...all brilliant songs!! They lost the goofiness on that record, but they made up for it with songwriting and musical ability. Plus, their post-Maroon attempts at bringing back the goofiness (Another Postcard, Wind It Up) are pretty lame and contrived. I think semi-seriousness has worked better for them post-Stunt.

  • I liked it as well. But the charm that they had in the earlier works was lost here until Are Men. That CD has some rather iffy songs and hit on a lot of issues while poking fun at it. Fun and Games comes to mind right away. I think if Robertson can find a way to emulate that again, they should be fine. There's also the matter of Page writing more serious songs at the turn of the decade because he was planning a solo career. He will be missed a lot but hopefully Ed and the others can manage

  • We may be in the minority, but I must agree with you.. . .Conventioneers, Sell Sell Sell, Humor of the Situation, and Tonight is the Night I Fell Asleep at the Wheel are four of my favorites from BNL. These four are often the only four I listen to on Maroon.

  • I totally agree with you on the first part. I can't say anything about Maroon because I haven't listened to the whole thing. But Gordon, Born on a Pirate Ship and Stunt are all excellent albums. Especially Gordon. :)

  • and I never got to see them live.. :(

  • You're not alone

  • I know you have no idea how upset that makes me they were the only band I absolutely had to see I almost wanted to spend my life savings to go on Ships and Dip :(

  • me neither, they're always sold out. i'td be nice though.

  • They are still together, and working on a new album...Steve is just not in the band anymore.

  • Oh and "The Vanity Project" may be more than an album name, maybe it is Steve himself.

  • Good one.

  • Just downloaded (free at BNL's website)the four-man Universal park show...mostly good, but IMHO Jim's voice is OK on certain songs, but on the other hand, Kevin's is damned difficult to listen to. He just does not project.

After reading Steve's reason for leaving-says "the five-member band had so many songwriting voices, his was occasionally squeezed out." Sounds like a load O'Crap to me,,,just look at the songwriting credits on any of their albums 75-80% have his name attached to them.

  • Watching this just makes me sad. But 20 years is a long time, huh? Oh well, I'll continue to follow the band as well as Steve. But the chemistry between Ed & Steve just can't be duplicated.

  • I'd like to see Andy back on a long term basis, but Jim is just as good doing this song as Steve ever was

  • This song is built around Steve's voice. Just like so many of their best songs. In my opinion Steve was the heart that the band needed to endure beyond caricature. Ed certainly is funny and spunky, but he is ... well, almost disingenuous singing next to Steve. Listen to songs like "Break Your Heart," "What a Good Boy," or "War on Drugs"... there is a depth to both the sound & the emotion.

Steve allowed BNL to be both funny and beautiful, insightful and kind. Without him it seems hollow.

  • i agree. they will still be a good band but it won't be the same. there are just some songs they can't sing without him

  • Apparently they DO still plan on performing it. Jim is taking Steve's part. There's a clip of them practicing it over the weekend elsewhere on YouTube.

  • saw them at universal mardi gras! They sounded good considering the short notice departure. They will miss Steve's voice though and certain songs such as What a Good Boy will be off the playlist.

  • by far, my favorite song from E2E. I saw them perform this live and I just enjoyed it so much. It's sad that this is one song that they can't perform now that Steve has left the group

  • I hate you Steve - you have ruined everything!! Only kidding, it was awesome for the 20+ years it lasted!

  • Bye, Steve. :-(

  • i loooove bnl, im one of their biggest fans!

you two sound amazing when you're singing together!

  • this is awesome :)

  • these guys just rock

  • WOO GO KATIES =D

    lol

  • YES KATIE!!

    WE DO RULE!!

  • XDD!!

  • Katie FTW =]

  • they are fun! ya ,, we need more fun!

  • I think this is the best 'Bathroom Sessions' songs - top banana :-)

  • lmao.

    Luv <44444

  • fantastic

  • Nice Job Guys!!!

  • Is it just me, or does the chorus sound a little off-key? It's a little different on the album. But pretty good. =)

  • It's just you...It's perfect

  • Apparently not, because I just listened to this and the album side-by-side and it's a little different. I never said it was bad, just different.

  • Okay, It's perfectly different.

  • lol well said... theese are ment to be diffrent slightly otherwise ...what would be the point :P ... theres alot more buffers and drums on the albums too ..you going to have a go at that too :P ??

  • iTS waaaaay better! the studio verison has to much stuff going on, i love the broken down raw verison of it!

  • Im a sucker for any song with me name in it but, this song is one of my favs on the album Everything to Everyone. This vid has made my day!!!!! :)

  • lmao sweet thanks dude...my friend like dedicated this song so i just..u know

  • did they just wing this or is it a actual song?

  • KatieKatrina1994:

its an actual song on the album Everything to Everyone

  • lmao wow

  • The air guitar by Page was awesome and I agree with whoever said it before....Steven Page needs to be in more of the videos. Together they have thay full BNL vocal sound. Either one on their own are swesome as well, but together they are incredible.

  • I'm pretty sure this is one of my favorite songs by them! Steve is basically A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!

  • how come steve is only in a small number of these sessions? that saddens me.

  • Because Steve is only in a small number of songs by the Barenaked Ladies, which almost makes you wonder when Steven might get a trun to perform songs mostly performed by him (i.e. "The Old Apartment")

  • clown. To say Steve is "only in a small number of songs" is total crap - Steve Page wrote a lot of their early hits, is the main singer, and has a spin off project of his own. Ed is the other main writer and singer, and usually lead guitar player. Think of them as the BNL Lennon & McCartney...

  • Love that comparison, since the Beatles are my number one favorite, and Barenaked Ladies is number 2! Ironic that Barenaked Ladies has a song "Second Best"... That, and "Be My Yoko Ono"

  • Has anyone found Enid in a version like this?

  • I wish.

  • You are phenomenal live - especially @ Southampton in '06!!

  • Does anybody know where i can get the mp3 of this song???

  • Steve and Ed rock!

  • haha my friend ryan says this is my theme song. My name's katie and i never know anything for sure ahead of time lol, always answer maybe. anyway love the song <3

  • They're amazing live (:

    I went when I was about 11/12

and i was right at the front

I got a pleck and the playlist!

  • Aww, my name is Cattie (pron. like Katie) and I love this song. :)

  • my name is Katie and I successfully convinced my friend this song was written about me. LOL.

  • Haha, that's amazing! :)

  • No you didn't. He just wants in your pants so he played along.

  • Yeah, you dont know how gullible he is..... he's not trying that..... im married and we've been friends 6 yrs.... he just believes anything I tell him.

  • He still wants to get in your pants, sweetie.

  • who knows, lol

  • Ok I just pressed a thumbs down on a comment about them in concert I really ment to press the tumbs up so now I feel really bad

I love the barenaked ladies and their concert was amazing!

  • i like this verison better than the studio one!

  • Good time stuff

  • i so want to see this band live... COME TO SWEDEN, PLEASE!! :D haha.. best band ever

  • so good...... 5/5

  • I love this band, I want to see them live!

  • They are absolutely amazing live.

  • I love this tune. I've seen BNL in concert and it was the BEST damn time I've had at a show in many, many years.

  • lol interesting mouthing of the guitar, Steve lol

  • Hahaha, I'm digging the solo gents, and I think I like this acoustic version better than the one on the cd.

  • One of the very few bands that actually sound as good as the cd w/o a studio to do touch ups!

    BNL rules!

  • my first daughter's name's gonna be katie...not cuz of this song but after my after my great-grandma kate...but i now i know what song to sing her ^.^

you guys sound awesome...so inspirational =3

  • my name is KATIE and it's not that fun after age 12.

  • I've seen BNL in concert twice. Both times in Toronto. I've never seen them play Jane. And I'm pretty sure that they haven't done a bathroom session of that one... I wonder what the reasoning is. Its one of their better songs, in my opinion.

  • They played Jane in Cleveland before..

    At the somethingorother pavillion...

  • What a magnificent band. I love the way these bathroom sessions are on YouTube. How many other people make time for fans in this way? This is such a catchy song. From England with love.

  • i'm not katie

  • well, what's so maybe about you?

  • im a katie

  • i'm a katie!! :D

  • im a Katie!

  • its really fun playing bass thanks to thees guys i can practis my bass lines and there songs are fun ! :)

  • You guys rock my socks off :]

    Love it. Too freakin' awesome.

  • You guys rock ASS!

  • Maybe Katie will tell you. Right now she's too busy being brainwashed by Scientologists.

  • I'm watching these sessions recorded on equipment little better than mall security cameras and the amazingness of BNL is still shining through. Maybe more so because all production value is stripped away, leaving two guys, a guitar and a mountain of talent. Fantastic!!

  • Amen!!! You tell 'em. They are the greatest band ever.

  • haha, i'm a katie:)

  • I'm Katie/Kate :)

  • Katie's around the world unite! Haha

  • My name is Katie!!!!LOL!!!!

  • Saw them at Universal (Hollywood) last year and we LOVE them live!

My Katie is only 7, but she rocked out to BNL! She did meet Mike Dohety from their opening act...

    BNL is awesome!!!

  • These Guys Are The Best Band Ever Born!

  • Everything to Everyone is my favorite album. I'm learning Another Postcard on my bass! You guys rock!

  • i love this band! im 13 years old, and when i was really young my dad gave me one of their cds on my birthday with this song on it because hes a huge a fan, and i felt special because it had my name on the cd. :P these guys are so chill, love em to death.

  • Every now and then I re-discover these videos and I fall in love with these fantastic men all over again.....sigh :)

  • I really wanna jam with these guys.
