Both are good, of course, but I really like your take on the voice. I think the soft way in which you sang gave the lyrics a sad, innocent quality and it seems very fitting.

Elfen Lied. It's a rather gorey and sad anime. Be preparred, there is nudity, but either way, its a great anime. It's my favorite short series (I believe there is 12 episodes and 1 OVA)

I have one minor gripe, though; it sounds like you really changed the bridge around. That was my favorite part of the original, and I'm kind of curious as to why you changed it as much as you did...it doesn't really have the same send-shivers-up-your-spine effect. I like your version of the parts with words better, though. :)
For one, I don't have a very strong voice in the upper register, and therefore couldn't carry the melody alone without sufficient harmony. The second reason is that this is a cover, and I always change things around to fit my style a bit ^_^
@katethegreat19 That makes sense...and this is a music-box version so the original style wouldn't really fit. :P I'm not really all that good with music theory, but it sounds like the chord is different at 1:40, and that's what I noticed--after listening more closely a few times your version actually is pretty close to the original.
Well, actually the chords there are exactly what they are in the real version. There aren't any changes, except in the original, there are cellos and basses doing a wandering baseline there, emphasising certain notes octaves below and giving in a really special sound. I wish I could play the cello TwT;;
I actually like how you take these songs and make them your own, I like the difference in your voice and to see your spin on them. Its your difference that makes some of these come alive and become so powerful. It wouldn't be the same if you only did it the same.
Your singins is awesome, your voice as well, but your latin is not so great... try to listen the original and procunce just like, then everythink will be perfect!

wow. your singing is amazing, and this arrangement is amazing too (albeit i personally think it should be slower)... however (ugh, i don't wanna say anything bad, because really this is wonderful!), this is a latin song and vowels must be deeper ("ah" should be nearly present in every syllable) and held longer (sa-ncta vs. sanc-ta).
it's not your fault or anything (what being a native english speaker), ... but it's just a little strange to me because i'm so used to latin songs.
we have the romance languages (esp italian), plus the fact that medieval latin (the common pronunciation system for latin songs) is still spoken by many churches.
this version gets better every time i hear it, though. ^_^
When someone sent me this link saying that someone had done a beautiful rendition of the Elfen Lied theme, I was prepared to leave a nasty comment merely because I couldn't believe that anyone could do it enough justice nor make the theme any more entrancingly beautiful than it already was.

I think it could've been a little slower to suit the song more, but other than that a beautiful rendition of Lilium ^^ best anime opening theme song evar, in my opinion.
Although I wish it was sung in a bit more of an opera voice as the original, the switch up was nice for a change. I liked how you put your own mix on the song with different instruments, and it was pleasant to hear. x3

wow. your singing is amazing, and this arrangement is amazing too (albeit i personally think it should be slower)... however (ugh, i don't wanna say anything bad, because really this is wonderful!), this is a latin song and vowels must be deeper ("ah" should be nearly present in every syllable) and held longer (sa-ncta vs. sanc-ta).
it's not your fault or anything (what being a native english speaker), ... but it's just a little strange to me because i'm so used to latin songs.

we have the romance languages (esp italian), plus the fact that medieval latin (the common pronunciation system for latin songs) is still spoken by many churches.
this version gets better every time i hear it, though. ^_^

When someone sent me this link saying that someone had done a beautiful rendition of the Elfen Lied theme, I was prepared to leave a nasty comment merely because I couldn't believe that anyone could do it enough justice nor make the theme any more entrancingly beautiful than it already was.
I was so wrong! This is amazing. What a lovely contribution to the series this is. Haunting and enthralling in every way possible. Amazing.

You sang the chorus version though, not the opening sung by a female voice, no? (I know they're the same.... almost lol)

Although I wish it was sung in a bit more of an opera voice as the original, the switch up was nice for a change. I liked how you put your own mix on the song with different instruments, and it was pleasant to hear. x3
I, too, am working on singing this song, and it's not easy, so I totally understand. Also: nice AMV work, Tif. ^^; It was nice seeing the anime while hearing it~ You truly have talent.
