Sorry if this sounds dumb but I was just wondering does anyone know how is it that they get the hula hoop to come back to them? Is it just a certain technique based on the way they throw it or is it something else?
it's just a certain technique based on the way they throw it! And it's really easy... you just have to make it turn in your direction before it tuch the floor.. Sorry for my english, I don't know how to explain... But take a look and you will see how she "push" on the hoop when she throw it...
Bessonova is the best gymnast of the world. Many times better than all russians together. She really shows what rhythmic gymnastics is in its beautiful grace. Shes getting better every year. Anna for gold in beijing!

I think for Sessina its sure. After, Kabaeva still the favorite of Viner, i'm afraid, not again! Cause Viner probably want Kabaeva to be the first double gold medal in Rg history. Kanaeva would merit, but she's not trained by Viner i think, so it willbe difficult... And Kapranova, I don't know! i think it will be Kabaeva and Sessina.

I watched!You are right! Even if Sessina have a good first release, and some beautiful piruets, she's a little bit static and "cold". Zhukova have also beautiful piruets (don't know in english... you know, without the hand...), good form on almost everything, but also so much more originality!
But you know, my favorite rutins are the ball of Lobath, Kostina, and Petrova, the first international ribbon of Besso, the hoop and clubs of lipkovskaïa... Even if I love also the difficulty (did you so the Siderova hoop element? It's incredible), I'm always more impressed when the gymnsat bring an atmosphere on the carpet...

And the last point is tht I'am for less difficulty and more danse in the rutins... This last year it progress a little, with a relative return of this side of RG lost in 2000!

yes, i agree with you, the most important thing in rhythmic gymnastics is to express with the movements (like Tchachina, Almudena Cid, Bessonova and Peycheva do), if a gymnast doesn't get that, it does not matter how perfect is she
