Yes, he said that in an interview he gave on a programme dedicated to Red Dwarf. Can't remember what it was called "A night with Red Dwarf" or something. All kinds of clips, interviews, cast on the road etc etc. He said something like "... I was about to reach for the phone to call my lawyers, when I realised this was very very funny..." and proceded to be very complimentary. Don't know if it would be possible to get hold of that programme...

@LibraGamesUnlimited As a fan of both Red Dwarf and Star trek I don't mind action or comedy in trek. Just as long that's not all it is and it has actual substance like trek is supposed to with real human stories about people and the human condition like it has done before. There's no need to take any of that out just so you can have action or comedy in it.
