@redgibson1 Thanks. It's some sort of an artificial harmonic, I believe. What I do there is that as I strike the string with the pick, I also let the thumb holding the pick just BARELY touch the string. That's how that sound comes. Try it some time. :)

@sdbassplayer First, of course, you must know the vocals AND the guitars. From there, there are some similarities with playing drums. You have to figure out the notes between vocals and guitars that ring together... Sometimes it's a really slow process and some songs need more practice than others.

In the long run that does no good to your throat. James knows this too, so he goes into measures to conserve his voice. That means he cannot growl all the time. He, after all, considers himself a singer. And so do I.
Man, you're very good playing guitar and you do what you want you sing, you play the guitar... Obviously you're a Hetield fan, and you sing like him and you play solos like Kirk Hammett, man, congratulations. In the long run that does no good to your throat. James knows this too, so he goes into measures to conserve his voice. That means he cannot growl all the time. He, after all, considers himself a singer. And so do I.

Man, you're very good playing guitar and you do what you want you sing, you play the guitar... Obviously you're a Hetield fan, and you sing like him and you play solos like Kirk Hammett, man, congratulations. I try too, to play and sing like Het but it's really difficult to play and sing like him, some day I hope I'll play like you!
