I drive a B7 a4. An audi of equivalent year is always slower, and doesn't handle as well thanks to the heavy nose. That said, it's not far behind. Regardless, neither of the drivers in this video can get around a corner cleanly, so it doesn't really matter which car performs better in some magazine test.
Merc, then Audi, and last BMW. Not to mention, and guy who drives a 3 series BMW is driving a girls car. Any self-respecting guy who feels he must drive a BMW, MUST drive a 5, 6, or 7 series.

@TheEastcoastcali I would get the A4 with the 1.8T. I had one that recently was rear ended and totaled, I had an APR exhaust, APR flash programing, R1 diverter, cold air intake, H&R coilovers and sway bars. along with a few other things. It would stomp a 325i along with a few other BMW's. Turbos are easy to get power from, BMW's are expensive. I just bought an 07 A4 2.0T to replace it.

2.8L suck they get the worst engine problems than any other audi engine does, i would know since i've had one. but now i've got a 1.8t with a rsk04 turbo and a giac chip.
This video really does not say if the Audi is Quattro or FWD? The balancing factor would be that if the Audi had Quattro and a driver that apexed properly without losing speed would have passed the BMW ages ago.

I think Audi's Front-wheel based AWD Quattro system is definetly more purposed towards traction/stability than crisp handling and turn-in. The quattro Audi's ive driven had very heavy-feeling steering and scary amounts of initial understeer and body roll. I think Bimmers are far more suited for the tracks.
Thankfully the active rear differential on some sportier Audi's virtually eliminates the cons associated with the front-heavy AWD system.
BMW with RWD corners tighter with a tendency to oversteer, Audi with Quattro tends to understeer and require more turn in effort, but it is generally more stable. With a 6 cylinder engine, both cars are putting out about the same power. Do you want 4wd or Rwd?

@buri2zaemon Depends on where you are with regards to the amount of Audi's to BMW's. Living in Colorado the number of Audi's with quattro is close to if not more than the rear wheel drive 3-series BMW's for obvious reasons, mainly the weather. Not sure about the 08 A4 being better than the BMW 3 series, but that's a matter of opinion. Love both cars.
