  • this is a joke right??? :D guess a two year old could manage better... it's just mixing together, not cooking hahahaha :D

  • @marama1234 What else do you expect from a simple dish like mac and cheese?

  • Hhmmmmmm

  • Love cooking and love eating and food... but to be honest i dont get that eat healthy thingy.

  • Omg you did all that and didn't show us the finished dish? And I bet that cheddar when melted was oily and gross. I'd like to have seen the outcome. Also, wouldn't this way overcook that pasta putting it in the oven for half an hour? Any comments? Thanks

  • fuck yo couch foo!

  • its lovely stuff

    Keith

  • How long does the pasta "survive" in the freezer? I mean how long is it good for?

  • we keep pasta i the freezer all the time...it's never gone bad on us but we use it within a month max....secrete is to properly cool it off, then add a tad of oil, then freeze..you could use a food saver if you had one..

    keith

  • la pasta non va congellata caspita !! la pasta deve essere fresca !!

  • cooked pasta stored in the freezer did hear right ?

  • right..works just fine!

    Keith

  • kosher salt, give me a break.

Apart from that though, nice tut, looked great!

    Keith

  • Just subscribed:) I'm new to "cooking" but i love your videos! You make it seem so easy! I love them, keep them coming;)

  • thanks for watching....

    keith

  • Made the macaroni and cheese and it turned out divine! Thanks for the recipe!

Just wish my kids couldn't tell that it was whole wheat pasta... lol

I've tried to trick them three times now.

Note to new parents: Start your kids eating healthy and you won't be having to trick them into eating healthy when they are older! Good thing they generally come around again when they reach 17!

    Thanks again, J.

  • right...earlier is better...my kids got a very early start asn they love healthy food...

    glad it turned out!

    Keith

  • Off to try this today! Thank you! Just hoping I can find the cheeses...

  • great..

let me know how it turns out

    keith

  • I use nutmeg in the recipe for my macaroni and cheese, and i've had people practically begging me for the recipe. I live in North Carolina also, but every holiday and family get together they ask me to make my macaroni and cheese. It's all according to how much you use, and the cheeses with which you are pairing it. Variation can be a good thing.

  • yum...mac rocks for a side dish..

    keith

  • have to respectfully disagree with you, in the classic Bechamel sauce, which turns into Mornay after cheese is added, there is always nutmeg...only a little..and trust me the NC folks down here love my mac!

but I do like your idea and will try it...if it works..heck..why not!

    Keith

  • Okay, I am not a professional chef. I am one of those cooks, who just throws it in the pot, and it comes out great. Mama never added nutmeg in her mac and cheese, so I don't either. In either case I love your sweet and humble spirit. I enjoyed your vid. Happy cooking.

  • thanks..and remember...our Mama's can out cook a chef anyday....Grandma too....

thanks for commenting and keep cooking!

    Peace!

    Keith

  • Yummy.....Thanks

  • Hello! Meybe try using mixed egg too. :) !

Macaroni, Cheese & mixed Egg recipe ! :)

  • è maccheroni non macaroni = is maccheroni not macaroni

  • Is this guy NFL quarterback Drew Brees? If he isn't he should tell the chicks he is, he'll get a lot more action!

  • Kraft rocks and kids know it!!!

  • healthy... yeah right, that's bull shit

  • now i get why americans are obese. that is not healthy, that is poisoning... there must be like 1000 calories for every bite =S

  • Go and find out how many children who die of starvation every year. 16 millions is the number. Find a way to adopt these children. Just a few hundred US dollars a year is what it takes.

  • Unbelievable. Can't we stop for a moment, have some peace. Think about those 16 millions children who die of starvation around the world. If we do not have to worry about a roof over our head and where the next meal will come from, we are the 11% most luck people in the world! Imagine how blessed we are.

  • It is not a balanced diet but we can always add a salad dish to it. If we eat it once in a while is fine. I guess it is a lot healtier than many other kind of food.

  • ^ word!

    Totally agree!

  • why you guys bitching so much if you dont like the fucking video just dont watche it if you dont have nothing more to do to just make stuped comments man if the guy want to what hi whants to just late him stop fucking bitching this video is sweet im going to try it out one of this days

  • because people are weak. they love to go somewhere where no one knows them, who they don't have to face, and put them down. what place is better than you tube? nice video, but i always start with a rue, then go from there.

  • Fmvgomes, you're probably too stupid to see. But everything you just said applies to yourself, you blind hypocrite!

"who the hell u r to say what is good or not for me?"

You were the one doing that.

"A new gimp who thinks he's the new Jesus?"

You think you're better than Jesus with your healthy boiled fish and veggies!

  • Ur the 1 who thinks u r better than Jesus coz u think u know what people r thinkin.

U r just patetic! I dont even know why Im tryin to explain something to some1 who doesnt even do the job of putin his brain workin!

No one eats 100% healthy food, neither do I. But that doesnt give u the right of sayin that ANY HOME MADE recipe is healthy! And If u believe in that, some1 is kiding with u. Now u can open ur eyes or continue to be a tosser and keep putin the cock and vegies words in all ur replys!

  • You are presumptious in advocating boiled fish and veggies as the ideal healthy meal. It is clear that the purpose of this video is simply to make good food. Keith Snow's idea of healthy isn't necessarily low fat and antioxidant rich. His mac and cheese is healthy in the sense that it doesn't come in a box full of chemicals and preservatives.

  • WTF?! The more u talk the more u show people what kind of moron u r!

I didn't said fish and veggies are the ideal meal. Stop puting things in mouth and read the comments first, at least!

So, by your point of view u can give tons of chocolate cakes for the kids because that's "healthy" for not having any kind of preservatives.

Just for your info i got that point (make ur own without chemics and preservatives) but saying that's healthy its is way too much!

  • A food and cooking channel isn't the place to advocate cutting calories and fat. You are out of your place and way over your head.

Again, you should boil your own cock with veggies, because that's definitely healthier and leaner than the mac and cheese.

  • You are an idiot! U should go some research about the deseases that cost so many lives worldwide due to over-nutrition.

The more u talk, the more u prove ur the 1 who has no clue about what ur talking about.

Go see some stats about ur country for example and see what % of people is above the "ideal weight".

And after that, u can eat everything u want and keep low minded, i don't care.

I was just showing the other side of the coin, u don't need to see it if u don't want!

  • The issue here is not nutrition. The video's intention is not to come up with an ideal cancer-fighting, obesity-eliminating diet. The video's purpose is simply to promote delicious food--however fattening it may be! The only healthy thing about this dish is that it is freshly made, so it lacks the preservatives you get from boxed foods. Healthy is a subjective term. Macaroni and cheese has its place in a healthy diet. Eaten sparingly, it poses no problem.

  • Healthy is subjective term in the way that something can be healthy for 1 person and bad for another. For example, people who have kidney problems should not eat rich potassium food and other people may not have any problem with that!

"The only healthy thing about this dish is that it is freshly made, so it lacks the preservatives you get from boxed foods."

This was the only right thing u said till now! So stop speaking ur mouth off!

  • You come on a food channel to admonish good food and advocate a diet of purely boiled fish and veggies. Certainly you did not spell out that it is the ideal meal, but your know-it-all, nutritionally superior attitude implies it. You everyone else as idiots, because they don't eat the diet you eat. So please, continue eating your boiled cock and veggies. We'll enjoy the pleasures of life.

  • That's ur judgement and anyone can judge!

If u look on other comments I posted i said another Dish insteed of boiled fish and veggies. If u can see that the boiled fish and veggies was just a simple example so u have a problem, and I'm not here to solve it!

I'm not superior and I don't have any superior habits. I can also eat mac/cheese and cakes but I dont come over the net making false advertising about mac/cheese are healthy. At least change the slogan to chemical/preservatives free!

  • There was no false advertising. "Healthy" is subjective and relative. Compared to boxed mac and cheese, the homemade version does not have food additives and preservatives. If you would rather eat those chemicals just to avoid fat and cholesterol, by all means, go ahead. Chef Keith Snow never advocated mac and cheese as the ideal "boiled fish and veggies meal," nor did he instruct viewers to eat large portions three meals a day. So shut the fuck up and fuck off!

  • It's ur point of view! Everyone has one. I already explained how something can be healthy or not, I'm not repeating what I said (I guess u didnt read).

Chemical Free is not necessarily healthy! You can still eat ur homemade mac/cheese? Of course! And if u compare this mac & cheese with boxed ones u can also compare it with other dishes.

"If you would rather eat those chemicals just to avoid fat and cholesterol, by all means, go ahead."

U gotta tell me where I said something like this...

  • Healthy is subjective, and the word really means nothing. You can say that a food is low fat, high fat, rich in nutrients, low in nutrients, chemical-free, or chemical-laden. Just because mac and cheese is high in fat does not mean it's unhealthy. Compared to the boiled fish and veggies, it may not have as many antioxidants or omega fatty acids, but it certainly is not completely devoid of nutrients. So stop bitching about it like it's the worst food in the world.

  • At this time, the only conclusion I can get from this chat is that this is a endless conversation because, either u can't understand what I'm saying or just don't want to.

I won't lose more of my time trying to explain something that is proved that cant be understandable (at least by you). This is my last reply to your comments (even if you come with "low brain" comments and usual).

I guess the other viewers have the right of a good environment here!

So, good luck and have a nice life!

  • You're the one with the "low brain." You talk about adults not being able to absorb calcium, when this dish was for someone's kids. Then you accuse Keith for false advertising and damn mac and cheese for being high in fat and cholesterol when no one ever claimed that it was low fat and low cholesterol. Try learning some English, will you? You stupid Portugeuse boiled cocksucker!

  • Furthermore, your only argument against mac and cheese is the caloric value, which shows how limited your nutritional knowledge is. There's more than calories in the dish. There's calcium, vitamin D, protein, and all the other good stuff you get in milk. You can even get more fiber if you used whole wheat pasta. How many calories you get out of it depends on how much you eat.

  • No there is one more thing: Colesterol.

And calcium that milk has only can be absorved by young children. Adults lose the capacity for that!

If you want to get calcium for a dish make sure u have spinach there because they are rich in calcium.

And for Vitamin D the simple exposure to sunlight triggers the production of Vitamin D on ur skin so u have better options to get Vitamin D.

And for the fibers (this will sound repetitive): fruits and vegetables!

  • Can't even fucking spell cholesterol. Adults do not lose their capacity to absorb calcium, otherwise their bones would completely disintegrate and they would be dead. I think you mean REDUCED absorption. The blood needs a set calcium ion concentration to maintain homeostasis. If calcium intake and absorption stopped, the blood would draw out all the calcium from the bone. Learn some fucking science before you fucking bitch at other people.

  • Oh now this is a spelling/writing lesson! If u dont have anything smarter to say stfu then!

And ur the one who needs to learn science! I said the adults lose the capacity of getting calcium FROM THE MILK! If u r that science expert u should know that! One more time, learn to interpret what other people say or u'll act like an idiot!

  • Please cite the scientific literature you are referring to, and I will believe you.

  • "One more time, learn to interpret what other people say or u'll act like an idiot!"

Maybe you should intrepret what Keith Snow meant by "healthy," before bitching about false advertising and how fatty and heart-clogging his mac and cheese is. He never told you to eat it three meals a day, seven days a week. He's simply trying to make honest, delicious food, without excessive regard to antioxidants or calories, so please take your nutritional snobbery somewhere else.

  • Keith's goal is to make a dish healthier than the boxed mac and cheese for Caroline's KIDS. (So don't even try to compare it to other foods. It's irrelevant. And don't tell me the KIDS can't absorb calcium.) Keith made no claims that his dish was low fat or low cholesterol. He said it was rich in fiber, calcium, and fat-soluble vitamins, which is true. No false advertising. The dish has milk, cheese, and whole wheat elbow macaroni. Watch the video again CAREFULLY and fuck off!

  • In regards to sunlight exposure, most do not get enough daily to produce the daily requirement of vitamin D. There are also concerns about excess sun exposure and skin cancer. The plain fact is that mere sun exposure does not give us enough vitamin D, because of our mostly indoor lifestyle today. So supplementing with food is a wise idea. Unless you want to get rickets.

  • I hate it when people give rude comments to awesome people...hehe

  • so i dont need an egg...?

  • If you want to make something HEALTHY (for a change) try to make some boilled fish with vegetables! That's healthy!

  • argh you pervert!

  • I don't be arrogant but people in US think that anything than fast-food is healthy, and u can only understand that if you live in a country where exist better eating habits.

There's also healthy reciepes with a bit more flavour. For example if u cook a piece of fish inside a little bit of paper (not ordinary paper of course) with some vegetables in there (e.g. carrots, zuchini, leek,...) and a little seasoning with spices and herbs; thats a healthy recipe.

  • Hey, fmvgomes. Go boil your cock with some vegetables. That's healthy.

  • why? are u a cock eater?!

  • You are, because mac and cheese ain't good enough for you. It's too fat and unhealthy. So go boil your cock with some veggies and munch on that!

  • ur the one asking for cock not me! x)

And didn't said it wasn't good, I said it wasn't that healthy! Now go back to school and learn to see what people write and meanwhile u can eat all the cocks u want!

    :)

  • I said it wasn't good enough for you, because it's too "fat and unhealthy." You're the one who can't read and appreciate good food. So shut the fuck up and eat your boiled cock with veggies!

  • who the hell u r to say what is good or not for me? A new gimp who thinks he's the new Jesus? Sod off!!

And listen, if u don't have any better arguments besides boiling cocks with vegies u really should find a doctor, because that's too much cock chat for hetero people who actually want to see a food video.

  • YOU said that mac and cheese is unhealthy and told people to eat "boiled fish with vegetables" instead. So you go sod off and boil your cock with veggies.

  • WTf? U r the stupid moron here. Go get a new brain cell to make a pair with the one that isnt working.

I wasnt saying to one to eat fish and vegies, I just said this recipe wasnt healthy and thats the god damn truth. If this hurts u too much is ur problem.

I was being objective and if you don't believe it just see how much Kcal this meal has and take ur own conclusions before starting to speak ur "typical wanker - cock with vegies" conversation off!

  • but kids like this stuff! I like fish but I think kids rather wants mac N' chesse, burgers etc...

  • Of course kids like this stuff. I'm not saying kids can't eat mac and cheese and other cool stuff but u may not ask ur kids what they wanna eat for lunch because u already know what they gonna ask (don't you?).

So what I say is, give ur kids kind surprises like this but teach 'em that sometimes we gotta give a break to the calories!

  • tell me how to make heathy chocalate popcorn

  • Wow healthy and chocolate arent usely used in a sentace lol

  • i wish they were

  • me too lol

  • EIK NACHUI

  • Half the bag tells us NOTHING.How Much??12oz..6oz of each item do you put in? 99% of you people do NOT tell how much of each item to put in.This is a waist of time as usual.

  • If you knew basic arithmetic, you wouldn't be asking this question.

He said at the beginning 1 bag=1 lb. of pasta

Thus, half a bag of pasta is .5 lb=8 oz.

    Duh.

Additionally, people who are actually intending to make this dish, can easily tell the measurements from sight.

    kp

  • i just made max and cheese and im currently eating it and im really .........pissed because it's kinda hard, what can i do to avoid that?

  • whats nutmeg?

  • u dont put NUTMEG in mac and chesse that is the most yucky thing i ever saw in my life the boxed stuff is WAYYYY better then that NUTMEG IS MUSHROOM JERK!!!! u didnt even say wats in the sause or u didnt show the finshed product.......

  • 1)nutmeg.. isnt mushroom

    2) there is reli NO reason for u to be this rude.

    3) Professional cooks like to use nutmeg in basically all pastas specially italian, u shud learn this kind of shit before looking like a total retard online

  • Why the fuck would you put Nutmeg On To Macaroni Cheese? Are You CRAZY!?

  • Nutmeg is great for mac and cheese. Watch more videos about it and u will find out that it is common knowledge for every professional chef.

  • ROFL!

  • I feel sad 4 u. Unhealthy living 4 u! Maybe it's because u can't cook properly. But it is no reason to denounce the healthier choice.

    - to 34df67

  • HAHA! :P

Right. I was being polite! U r such a coward for sending me a personal message.

Honestly, I won't be kind to give a damn about ur health.

  • Don't say "assertive cheeses". People watching youtube have no idea what that is.

  • NUTMEG?! Okaayyy.

  • Keith!

Love the vib, but would've loved to see the finished product!

  • while the real deal is good, but if your ona budget, then the box stuff is the only way

  • the junk in the box is good for those who dont have enough money, escapplay night people

  • tacos

  • WOOT A BOOT!O.o I LOOOVE COOKING! lol

  • I LUV MACARONI NOODLES

  • hey keith...nice video..:-)im indian n realy liked it..thx fa posting! keep it up...

    Sheena!

  • my mother has that same silver bowl. We're Jamaican. She uses it to season meat. This guy is pretty cool.

  • Ive seen some of your videos. It seems that you never have the time to make your own bread crumbs. If ever there were a time, I would think that it'd be for your video presentation. Also, you never show your finished product.

  • I can tell it's whole wheat. gimme regular anytime.

  • you don't cook the noddles first?

  • He already said that he did.

  • you know how good that looks i can live off of mac n cheese eggsandwiches and milk

  • um you never told us whats in the pot! i know theres milk, butter, cheese, but theres other stuff too! and you never said the measurments!

    but it looked delicious.

    "assertive cheeses"

    HA.

  • that "junk you can buy in the box" is tastey! but homemade mac and cheese is even better!, i love eating healthy, but unfortunatley im not a big fan of whole wheat pasta.

  • Maaa maa... questo è un depravato. MA CHE FAA' MA CHE SCHIFO FAAA'.

Amico mio cambia mestiere e datti alle torture.

  • i dont waant to make this. it's poison recipe. he didnt showw the result.

  • i keep thinking i'm goin to get to try it when he's done lol

  • "assertive cheeses"= cheeses with an attitude!

  • i mean food from the box not fox>_>

  • but... :O don't you cook pasta in boiling water before oven-baking? O_O

    try! it's more digestible!

however, much more than boxed stuff :)

oh.. naturally, don't use boxed stuff-bechamel

  • sharp cheddar kd pwns all else. sorry folks. it pWNS

  • I hate the sound of that metal spoon scraping against the bowl =( The macaroni looks good though =)

  • that was good you should send your vid to the food channel.i think next time you should show yourself actually making the pasta and the mornay sauce instead of you just saying that you did. and also next time say how much of the ingreadiants you used. besides that this was excellent!

  • See other videos he made...

  • Gouda (as in the real stuff with the official stamp) is very good too. Especially the medium riped one, though I'm not sure it's available in the US, you usually have very young Gouda.

  • ha, piss off. that "junk from the box" is the best. shells & cheese = best.

  • May you live a long, long time. And get to be very old. Good Life.

  • same to you

  • I did.

  • Look at the sodiom level on the packake. Think kidney function.

  • You'd have to eat A LOT of salt to lose kidney function. A LOT!

  • Over a long time combined with other things. Then add midications and there lesser known side effects you could be surprised. The same situation and time act differently on each person. But health is really a bad thing to gamble with. Would yor risk your liver instead? Just a old fart talking. Wish good long life to all.

  • Hehe, yeah. I'm young, just taking advantage of my, at the moment, resilient health. Enjoying it while it lasts ;)

  • Hay enjoy your youth and have a lot of good memories. They com in handy when you are old and they take away everything. No matter what it never lasts long enough. Hope you have a good job that you enjoy. That adds time.

  • Junk!?!?! the macaroni from the box is not junk! if it was junk then it would have more then 20g of sugar in it. I know that most kids in america love the macaroni from the box.

  • I agree w/ you but homemade pasta is healthier than the ones you buy in the box not saying that u shouldn't eat it ever again just saying that another altertnative for a healthy choice.

  • uh oh. are you gonna tell?

  • un no...

  • whew. ill give you some chips ok thanks

  • 2:34 Yes i can smell it ;)

  • whats wrong with the box stuff >:(

  • Your videos are great Iwill never make boxed macaroni and cheese again Thanks

  • that was my plan!!

    Keith

  • wow!

    I'm so gonna try this!

  • its a good one...make sure you use good cheese otherwise it's not nearly as good.

    Keith

  • free course,,thanks

  • Hey.. thanks for making this great video... however can u send me an e mail in my youtube account on the ingredients needed to make this... partly on the "mornay sauce "
