@666Barbaro I think your oven temperature is in Celsius.. the temperature given in this video is in Fahrenheit.. you need to convert it.. :) so in this video its
@666Barbaro Just follow the instructions. You will have to bake yours longer due to the low temperature, but I think you will still have chocolate sauce in the center.
@kkk345ify Thanks for your compliment! I'm sure you would do well at baking--just follow the instructions and keep checking while your food is baking.

@sohan181 If you let it sit in the fridge, it will hold its shape better, but you may bake it right away if you wish. If you skip the cream, you should replace it with an equal amount of milk.
Thank you for sharing your recipe and talent. I can't wait to try it. I just had a dessert the restaurant called it Chocolate indulgence, but I think this is it.

Hey Betty! Today, well just now I finished making the volcano cake. They are in the fridge before I bake them. I used real eggs instead of egg substitute, and milk chocolate instead of dark. @nursedeb08 Yes, that would be faster. You could just sprinkle the tops with confectioner's sugar, or remove them from the pan, invert them, and sprinkle the bottom, like these.

Mmmh, looks tasty. Reminds me a bit of "Mohr im Hemd", an austrian delicacy. Ever heard of it? It's a dark chocolate dough ring (still warm/hot when served), not liquid inside, but it comes with an extra prepared dark chocolate sauce (warm/hot of course) and whipped cream. And it looks more like an already erupted chocolate volcano.
@UkMicky09 Whipped cream would be good. You can't just use plain cream--It would soak into the cake. Maybe you have some special type of cream in mind.
Believe it or not, my mom is actually making a chocolate cake at the moment so while watching this, I've had that beautiful smell travel upstairs to my room. Wonderful recipe, I am most definitely going to try this myself!
Looks absolutely delicious for sure! Nice elegant even decadent looking chocolate molten lava or volcano cakes! I love that Ghirardelli brand chocolate. I tasted some chocolate candy in that brand and it was to die fo! Must be the cacao in it. Yummm!
Hope you all have a lovely holiday season, Betty! ((Hugs)) from Angie in AR

firstly thx a lot for this recipe...coz i have been looking for an eggless choco lava cake recipe since long time back...but of no use....after seeing this...m so happy n so much wanna try that....hope u will answer my questions .....i have 2 things to ask...one is that is heavy whipping cream sweet ? n another is that can i use egg replacer powder and what will be the quantity???
@payish The whipping cream is unsweetened. Yes, you can use egg powder. Just look at the instructions on the package, and it will tell how much powder you will need.
I SAW CHOCOLATE AND I CAME RUNNING!!!!! HAHAHA! Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe ! I would love to try it sometime. Now that the weather is cooler, my mom will let me turn on the oven (can't when it's too hot lol), and I will certainly give this try, and let you know how my family and I loved it, I'm sure we will!
Looks amazing Betty! When I was at this hotel in Belize we had a molten lava cake every time we went to the hotel restaurant- they did a banana molten chocolate cake! YUM :) Warm, nice video, as always :)
Im not sure if you said this in the video, but if you put these in the fridge and then later on put then in the microwave for a few seconds, will there still be "molten lava" or will the cake absorb it? =)
@XxPuddingFaceXx There will still be molten lava. I froze several of these, and thawed them out, and even without microwaving them they maintained their oozing center.
hi betty, i use to bake cupcakes very often for all my friends' birthdays. a tip i have to offer is to use an ice cream scooper to spoon the batter :) the ice cream scoopers that have the little thing to put all the batter out.. i hope you get what i'm trying to say
@maplepoon The first refrigeration is to keep the butter in place. The second refrigeration is to make the cupcake cling together better during the baking process, because it is very fragile.
@maplepoon im sure the 3rd reason for the 1 hour freezing for this volcano cake is to make the center of the cake cooler then the outside.. so when baking, the chance of having the oozing center is much much higher then when you didnt freeze it.
@derekbegins I don't know, exactly. You can take a measuring cup and break eggs into it until you have approximately 1 1/4 cups, and the beat the eggs.
Hi Betty! I have a question. When you are making something and you buy an ingredient that you don't usually use, what do you do with it?? And what if it's something that will expire?
@tomwahtoes There isn't much that I throw away. I manage to refrigerate or freeze most extra ingredients, and I keep in mind things like dairy products and fresh produce and try to use them fairly quickly. Some things can go past their expiration date and still be usable (perhaps in a different way), but if I have something that goes bad, I chuck it.
@randomworldshow Since its not real chocolate, you're going to need to alter the ingredients because it has less density than chocolate. Maybe melt the white chocolate in pudding first to build up a proper consistency.
What I love the most is that you enjoyed it so much in the restaurant that you went home and duplicated it yourself...now that is passion! I have no doubts that yours is even better than the one from the restaurant...because you're the best! :)
Looks delicious Betty!! Word of caution to anyone who uses those pastry brushes...always always check for those "bristles" that sometimes, often, shed off those brushes, that could so be a choking hazard. Thanks for sharing Betty!!
@666Barbaro I think your oven temperature is in Celsius.. the temperature given in this video is in Fahrenheit.. you need to convert it.. :) so in this video its

What I love the most is that you enjoyed it so much in the restaurant that you went home and duplicated it yourself...now that is passion! I have no doubts that yours is even better than the one from the restaurant...because you're the best! :)

This reminds me of an English version of a baked pudding.

Betty, Is this the same as the Chocolate Lava Cake, or has the same texture at least, you made in your earlier video?
bee5120 1 year ago
@bee5120 It's quite a lot the same result, using a different technique--and I like this one better!

Looks delicious Betty!! Word of caution to anyone who uses those pastry brushes...always always check for those "bristles" that sometimes, often, shed off those brushes, that could so be a choking hazard. Thanks for sharing Betty!!

I figured you would come up with an additional idea as to the Lava cake. They both look equally as scrumptious. And fun to make, too. Thanks, Betty!
