They came with unlimited residents permits NOT as guest workers, my dad is German my mom is from Bosnia and her parents came as so called "guest workers" the german government went to Former Yugoslavia (Bosnia) and Turkey and brought these people to Germany and gave them a right to stay, anyone from germany knows this. There are churches in U.A.E., Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, etc... one of the well known Greek Orthodox churches are in Jordan and Juwait and also big Catholic churches in Kuwait and Turkey, as well as many Assyrian churches in Iraq, Iran, etc... Yes there were churches that were converted to mosques in Turkey's history, but mosques were converted to churches in Spain's history for example the Great Mosque of Córdoba which was converted to Cathedral de Córdoba.
