Nice heli Elliot ,how does it compare for running costs to the 500 .Also how practical is it to go nitro. I know youve got good flying times compared to the electric but is it not a night mare to carry all the equipment for nitro around with you!
theres no nightmare of equipment to carry, its actually less than what you have to use with a electric, nitro all you need is a starter and thats it, if you use the onboard ignition, electric you have to take a charger and a power supply and a genarator if you dont have power at the feild,
I fitted a helicommand to one of those 50's for a customer and it scared the doodah outa me! lol what a bird, the test flight was in slightly more windier conditions than I would fly a rex 500 but jeez my heart had a good work out (c:
yeah it is quite daunting until you get over the initial....'look how big it is and the amount of noise the thing makes....also the amount of smoke pouring out of it lol'
they are really good though!
i got a trex 700 to set up in the next couple of weeks....now that is going to be scary lol

Awesome, do u prefer it to your trex 500?
thechoice33 2 years ago
hard to say!
there are pro's and cons to nitro!
with the 500 you take it out for a fly and you dont have hassle of starting kit
but you have limited flight time
with the rappy 50 i can go up to the field or a day and just keep on flying
the r50 will take a lot more wing.....the 500 will take a fair amount!
i would say the 500 at the mo...still scared of this thing (with the 500 i have no problem 3Ding it!

lol, yeah, I'm still scared off my trex 500, how much bigger is the raptor 50 compared to the 500?
thechoice33 2 years ago
the 500 is not intimidating in the slightest compared to this thing lol
the blades on a raptor 50 are about 600mm
on the 500 they are 425's
so more than a fair bit bigger!!!!
