australia wouldnt ship any of their FPV or HSV's simply because there isnt enough demand for it.. and doesnt america have their own version for these performance vehicles? australian made fords and holdens arent very reliable either.
I am a Holden man, but really respect the Falcon ever since the BA was released and all models there onwards are even better. My question is why dont Ford of Australia engineer a LHD Falcon and try the export market like Holden do? PLUS my own belief is that Ford US cannot politically afford to decrease production of any of its' factories, the unions would raise hell at the loss of jobs. If ford are going to build a possible GTHO, don't fuck around, take the new 5.0 to 5.8, 400 kw, manual only, get rid of the wanky luxury features and put some carbon fibre panels to keep weight down, and while at it get Winterbottom or someone in to get the chassis right. Don't design the body kit on wanky looks, make it purposeful. If it ends up costing a bit who cares?, a new worthy GTHO, people will buy it. Sorry, pipe dream, the do gooders will spoil it.

The VE and FG ford interiors are both rubbish. They both have cheap tacky materials and they are very dull. My VZ r8 interior is much better put together and the quality of materials is also a lot better too.
the VZ commodore build quality was pretty good too as noted by wheels and was far better than the BF ford back in the day.

as i said, just wait a few years, add some power to the ford and it will quickly start falling apart. There are no known breakages on the VE drivetrain to date due to excess power. If you werent so ignorant, wheels did a back to back test with the FG and BF GT. The BF got a faster time solely because the tyres were slightly stickier.

So the story goes, Ford Australia was given the same task in the Ford empire. @zenman4000 The Lincoln LS was a wonderful car. But the 3,9L Jaguar derived V-8 only put out 280hp by the time it was ended in 2006. A far cry from the power levels needed today to keep up with the likes of the Chrysler 300 SRT-8 or Cadillac CTS-V. Unfortunately, Ford chose to move Lincoln down market so it's not even in the same league as BMW or Mercedes. The Tuarus is still FWD and the AWD only engages when the front wheels slip. Ford needs the Falcon in the USA. There's no doubt of that.

Try managing a fleet of over 500 Falcons and Commodores and then you can really form an opinion of which is better. I co-manage a fleet of this size and I can say that the Falcon is a better car hands down. I have seen many Holden fans rethinking their badge loyalty after driving one of these. Better inside and out (the VE is dating fast), handles better, doesnt leak...and those GM V6 motors dont turn me on at all. Overall we are more trhan pleased with our Falcons (G6/XR6/XT/G6E) on fleet.
ford had what it take to take on HSV all through the 90's. HSV bought out the 5.7L. so tickford created the T3 5.6L Strokers that made more power and tourqe than the 5.7L and then Came the F6 which destroyed any thing HSV had to offer

yes i agree with you there, the F6 is in fact a quicker car then the GT, off the line the grunt of the v8 does beat it to 60km/h, but at 100kmh they are identical, once the turbo of the F6 kicks in at 400m its does take the lead. i will still be going gt-p for my next car, the sound is unrivaled

True, no denying the W427 is Australia's fastest ever production car. My question: is it worth DOUBLE the value of a GTS? I don't think so, seeing as though it's less than half a second faster than a FPV F6 (0-100) and probably not much quicker on the rolling start (80-120, etc where the F6 is faster than a Porsche 911).
I'm with you on this one(surprised!)lol, with HSV not bothered even re-designing the interior of the car,it makes ppl feel that they're just driving a regular HSV.What bugs me is that engine,bloody 7.0L but only 375kw.The Nissan GT-R Gorzilla can almost match that with twin turbo 3.8 V6,but having say that, the car is made in Japan and beaten Ferrari's Scuderia.

It makes no logical or business sense to deprive the American motoring public of such an amazing piece of machinery. @zenman4000 The Lincoln LS was a wonderful car. But the 3,9L Jaguar derived V-8 only put out 280hp by the time it was ended in 2006. A far cry from the power levels needed today to keep up with the likes of the Chrysler 300 SRT-8 or Cadillac CTS-V. Unfortunately, Ford chose to move Lincoln down market so it's not even in the same league as BMW or Mercedes. The Tuarus is still FWD and the AWD only engages when the front wheels slip. Ford needs the Falcon in the USA. There's no doubt of that.

@zenman4000 No kidding! I've been saying that for years. We need this car over here. Ford needs this car over here. Ford needs a good RWD 4-door sedan to at least try to compete with GM and Chrysler. Right now we have nothing. The only RWD car ford has in the US is the Mustang. That's pretty pathetic if you ask me. Ford has no competition for Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or any ot the RWD sedan makers. The Falcon would remedy this situation. But Ford is too shortsighted to realize this.

@1993gandy I don't know for sure, but I can give you the formula:
Retails for roughly $60,000 once registered, etc. Lop about $7000 because you don't need it to be registered in Australia.
Shipping costs: shop around for the best deal
Import duty: Customs what you'd pay import duty on the car, telling them the retail value. They should give you a straight answer.
Finally, pay attention to the exchange rates when you want to buy. Will not be 53,000 pounds Sterling at present. 70p=A$1

Ford has bad reviews with their boss v8s engine..hsv's v8 is better and more powerful.
Ford Has a good v6 turbo no doubt. F6.....but...the f6 only has 1 exhaust outlet?..and doesnt really look different from any other ford falcons xr6..

@tfinch92 Because it looks good? Because it sounds good? I had a 1961 Falcon with a 200 inline-six with split headers and true dual exhaust. It sounded fantastic. It's called freeing up the exhaust flow. It makes more power that way.

@razehey your a fucking retard holden has never been in front of ford... i laugh so hard at you because holden hasn't produced EVER produced its own engine, diff or gearbox for starters. They use the ford 9 inch diff, and they copied the front end suspension. Even in the supercars holden sucks dick! Did you know the only reason they both use pushrod engines is because thats all the holden has produced where as ford has developed the 5.4L quad cam engine that blows holden out of the water! LOL!

Try managing a fleet of over 500 Falcons and Commodores and then you can really form an opinion of which is better. I co-manage a fleet of this size and I can say that the Falcon is a better car hands down. I have seen many Holden fans rethinking their badge loyalty after driving one of these. Better inside and out (the VE is dating fast), handles better, doesnt leak...and those GM V6 motors dont turn me on at all. Overall we are more trhan pleased with our Falcons (G6/XR6/XT/G6E) on fleet.

ford had what it take to take on HSV all through the 90's. HSV bought out the 5.7L. so tickford created the T3 5.6L Strokers that made more power and tourqe than the 5.7L and then Came the F6 which destroyed any thing HSV had to offer

I did want a 2010 Mustang but if I was gonna get one, I didnt wanna settle for anything less than a GT and that was out of my price range, so I ended up getting a 2010 Fusion Sport. Maybe later when I buy my second car, I can buy one. Finish paying off the Fusion and finish with college and I can afford a Mustang Roush, Im only 20 yrs young :P

yes i agree with you there, the F6 is in fact a quicker car then the GT, off the line the grunt of the v8 does beat it to 60km/h, but at 100kmh they are identical, once the turbo of the F6 kicks in at 400m its does take the lead. i will still be going gt-p for my next car, the sound is unrivaled

the simple fact is holden arent moving forward because the only thing they are doing to their cars is changing the engine. ford is putting all different parts into their cars and thats wat makes them good. and do u really want to pay 120+ K for a car that has the same interior as any other holden and an engine that isnt really that good because the W427 doesnt really run that much faster than an F6?

True, no denying the W427 is Australia's fastest ever production car. My question: is it worth DOUBLE the value of a GTS? I don't think so, seeing as though it's less than half a second faster than a FPV F6 (0-100) and probably not much quicker on the rolling start (80-120, etc where the F6 is faster than a Porsche 911).

I'm with you on this one(surprised!)lol, with HSV not bothered even re-designing the interior of the car,it makes ppl feel that they're just driving a regular HSV.What bugs me is that engine,bloody 7.0L but only 375kw.The Nissan GT-R Gorzilla can almost match that with twin turbo 3.8 V6,but having say that, the car is made in Japan and beaten Ferrari's Scuderia.

I'm comparing the Falcons to FPVs, not FPVs to FPVs.Ford is doing what Holden was before,can't be bother designing anything new, just put bits and pieces together.I'm glad that Holden/HSV have moved away from that.Ford really need to pick up their game in terms of designing because I know they do better.
