For those of you wondering where you've heard the music before (ie: me), its from an amiga cracktro for Vroom, by The Company & Vision Factory. See video "JlXwmw8UY9w"
The composer is Edvin Fladen, who went by the handle "Random Voice". He has a website with some history and downloads, youtube won't let me put it here, but its easily findable with google.
@Prodatron well this completes the circle, because at fladen.net, the composer of Monday tells us that when he made it he was a member of an Amiga demo group called Symbiosis
to put this into context..........the Amiga 1000 only had 7mhz (ok a 68k) and 256kb and it was still better than any Mac OS or Winblows release. Let's see itona stock CPC6128 ;o)
Hard to compare, don't forget Amigas blitter Agnus :) However the SymbOS GUI is still faster on a normal Amstrad CPC than the original Workbench on my Amiga 1000, which uses Agnus for accelerating the GUI spped. I know that the first version of the Workbench was coded completely in C, and they did all this already 25 years ago. Anyway I should dedust my Amiga 1000 and make a comparison video :-P

Thanx a lot, great find! But wasn't it originally a C64 Sid? BSC called it "monday". At least I was thinking that the original came from the C64.

Excellent stuff.
If I had more time on my hands I'd get my 464 out, upgrade it, and get this installed.

Yeah but Wb 1.1-1.3 runs in 640x256 or 640x512 with a lot more going on. Agnus is blitter and copper :)
It IS impressive I agree, just would like to also see it on a 3.5mhz CPC using stock 3" disc drives etc.
Workbench = TriPos from Metacomco (Tim King) ported in the UK and some customisation....Atari could have hired Metacomco too for a multitasking OS.

It seems Terasic no longer sell the TREX C1 Kit, the recommended alternative (on their site at least) is the Altera DE-1.
Is it possible to configure that to use the Turbo CPC Core and use SymbOS?
SymbOS is VERY impressive, makes me wish I'd never got rid of my CPC464 all those years ago :(

It would've needed 128k to run it anyway... ;)

Wow, that is so simply amazing :D
I wish someone would port it to the SAM Coupe z80 computer, especially at 20 MHZ, tis but a dream.
Well done *_+
