not soooooooooo bad, but, sorry, the best interpreter and the UNIQUE, I think, of LEO BROWER in the World, at present, past and future is: Joaquín Clerch(professor at ¨"Robert Schumann" Hochschule, Düseldorf, is cuban and he was also pupil of Leo, MANY years ago, you ask...Thank you
It's not because an interpreter is better than another that this interpreter is bad. Better does NOT mean good, less good does NOT mean bad. Stop comparing, it's stupid.
@violincito I don't know man... I would say Rey Guerra is better than Joaquin Clerch. He was also a Pupil of Leo and Clerchs teacher... Still, Clerch is an astounding guitar player... By the way, Guerra is also cuban
Chad, that was absolutely beautiful. I've wanted to learn that piece for awhile. I hope you don't mind if one of these days when I learn it, I steal your interpretation verbatim. Also, I enjoyed the evil eye you gave to those coughers. That's what I call stage presence. "Hey, shut the F up. I'm playing!" Now post "Ich bin ein Kohlbauern Bub" so we can see the badass virtuosity as well.
He is very good! Fast/Slow is up to the musician and how he feels it. (See Egberto Gismonti youtube's). I personally believe that Leo Brouwer must be played in a jazz like manner (free, loose and added on). Chad plays it in classical way as if it was Albeniz. Not my preference but excellent nevertheless.
As a sutdent, I was in front of Leo, at Martinique Island. During a Seminar. Gismonti was teaching to another group of students. While one student plays the "Decameron Negro", Leo told me in some specific place: "Like Keith Jarret". Next Leo recommended me as a must, to ear the famous Koln Concert ( Keith Jarret, playing piano ). As I did.
It's 'Balada', not 'Ballada' :) I can prove that because I speak spanish.

El decameron Negro is one of my favourite Classical Guitar pieces and you play this movement beautifully.
Well done!

The part at 0:45 has to be the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. Surveys the room in detail and still manages to keep control! props
