  • My own kitten will sit and watch this whole movie with me. That is, of course, right before she goes and flicks her litter all over my shoes. You're a bad influence Cheshire.

  • This cat used to scare the shit out of me when I was little.

    Especially at 2:53 D:

  • @omfgitsmelly 2:53 holy crap! ur right he's freaken creepy. I remember thinking he was a little creepy myself when i was little and saw this movie for the first time.

  • You're no match for Super Murder Cat!

  • "Oooooh, by the way, if you'd really like to know, he went.. that way."

    "Who did?"

    "The white rabbit."

    "He did!?"

    "He did what?"

    "Went that way!"

    "Who did?"

    "The white rabbit!!"

    "What rabbit?"

Best troll ever! The Chesire Cat always make me laugh.

  • I honestly don't know what Disney was thinking when they classified the Cheshire Cat as a Disney Villain. He isn't the slightest bit of an iniquitous character. He give Alice very logical advice, it's just a tad bit confusing so she can't quite understand it. He's a peculiar cat, and although he is quite mad, like the rest of the lot cooped up in Wonderland, he isn't a villain at all.

  • sterling holloway had a fantastic singing voice. why did he only do kids music?

  • "Oh, you can't help that. Most everyones mad here. You may have noticed that I'm not all there myself..." love that

  • U mad Alice?

  • Andrea Lopez Zapata en Colombia es como Alicia en el país de las maravillas

  • Andrea Lopez Zarata es Alicia

  • Although people think he's crazy, all of the stuff is actually very logical

  • I know the chesire cat here also is the voice of Pooh bear. But isn't he also the voice of that mous in "The aristo cats"? :o

  • watch u tube, sterling holloway on the twilight zone and the andy griffith show, he really sounds like that!

  • his singing gives me goose bumps, its so perfect.

  • didnt he have the perfect voice?

  • STERLING HOLLOWAY.

  • This is another scene NBC did not show in the late 1980s.

  • You can't help it... Everyone is mad here. Hah, hahah, hahahahahahahahahaha...

  • alice in wonderland really freaks me out . .

just cause of how nuts it is XD

  • 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.

The Cheshire Cat was singing the first verse to the Jabberwocky poem.

  • Is the person who does alice's voice the same person who does wendy's out of peter pan? they sound kinda of the same :)

  • @XHeartagramRomanceX yes :D She is same ^^ and White Rabbit was in Peter pan too :D Smee's role !

  • @GetlemanNightmare awsome awsome :D i had no idea about mr smee :D thanks :)

  • @XHeartagramRomanceX :D and Cherire cat is Winne to pooh :D that old one and Mad Hatter is uncle Alber in Mary poppins

  • @GetlemanNightmare i knew cheshire cat was pooh bear :D i love how once you hear a voice in one disney movie you hear them in loads more :D

  • I wonder who's on more acid... Alice or Chesire.

  • Alice must've smoked about 6 j's before she passed out, to have this kind of dream.

  • You may have noticed I'm not all there myself :)

  • Oh, he is chanting Jabberwocky. Of course.. Now I am cut myself openf, laughing as I do it.

  • I watched this after the Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland ... and I noticed that the Cheshire Cat in this old movie was singing part of the Jabberwocky poem that was in the book!

  • this movie is TRIPPY

  • "HHHHHHHWHAT RABBIT?"

  • the cat is such a troll

  • When alice gets older... she"ll go MAD!!!

  • Acid movie all the way

  • "i just ought to ask you which way i ought to go?"

-Well that depends on where you want to get too

    "Oh it really doesn't matter..."

-Then it really doesn't matter which way you go :D

  • 2:49 I have that picture tattooed on my back, with the quote, "we are all mad here" it's rad. I love this part.

  • dope cartoon if you're high

  • The Cheshire cat terrified me when I was little!! But such a good film!!!

  • The original troll.

  • OMG CHESHIRE CAT IS POOH BEAR... AND POOH BEAR IS KAA FROM THE JUNGLE BOOK!!!!!!!!! lmfao

  • i just now realized the cat was singing jabberwocky! very apt, seeing as neither him nor jabberwocky make any sense at all

  • disney should make an alice in wonderland ride at Florida. :)

    the cheshire is perfect.

  • I found this movie terrifying as a child. This scene is perhaps the largest reason.

  • sterling hollaway was the Cheshire cat right?

  • that cats fucking psyhco

  • The Cheshire Cat is awesome!

  • I love this :)

  • by the way he went that way...

    who did?

    the white rabbit..

    HE DID! :)

    did what?

    went that way

    who did?

    THE WHITE RABBIT!

    ...What rabbit?

  • Interesting point. Chemicals used in the hat making industry could cause long term damage to the nervous system, sometimes resulting in mental illness. Thats why the phrase "mad as a hatter" entered the language

  • @FuroraCeltica Yeah. The chemicals in the glue they used damaged them when they inhaled it, if I'm not mistaken.

  • I have a strong suspicion that the voice behind the cat is the voice behind Winnie the Pooh.

  • @Vanze42 because OMG Facts told you so?

  • Comment removed

  • @FeebiDraven No, because I happen to be a pretty big fan of Winnie the Pooh and the second I saw the video I recognized the similarity of the voice. I could imagine the voice singing "I'm just a little black rain cloud."

  • Chesire Cat! Best character ever!

  • "if youd really like to know, he went that way." "who did?" "the white rabbit." "he did?" "He did what?" "Went that way." "Who did?" "The White Rabbit!" "What rabbit?" "But didn't you just say...?" LOL one of the funniest Disney moments!!
  • I'm the Cheshire Cat.

  • Cheshire Cat: An inspiration to all trolls since 1951.

  • 1:58 epic face

  • DUDE!!! he is singing a part of the Jabberwocky poem in the beginning

  • @korealover17 I just noticed that :D

  • He's such a troll isn't he?

  • Thumb up if you love AND hate Cheshire Cat.

  • I never quite understood why he was considered a Disney villain...

  • @MangaPrincess2 was he? i dont understand that either. O.o

  • @BaLiCeInWoNdErLaNd Well, I saw him on a cup or drawing or something with a bunch of other Disney villains when I was a kid, and I was a little confused xD

  • @MangaPrincess2 lol, i guess sometimes even disney got it wrong too, :P

  • @BaLiCeInWoNdErLaNd I guess so xD

  • Alice would run away if she saw the Cheshire cat from Madness Returns lol

  • Thats the same voice as pooh bear! :)

  • Can you stand on your head?

  • @mdisking2 aah i love him for that

  • Oh, I prefer the French version !

  • The voice of cheshire cat is the same as the voice as pooh bear!

  • @KaTSicLe95 ooh and dont forget Ka =) the snake in Jungle Book.

  • @KaTSicLe95 Yes the voice actors name is Sterling Halloway :)

  • @KaTSicLe95

    rly? ur kinda right.

  • Lol he's as high as a kite

  • OMG AT 1:59 LOOKS LIKE HE'S IN LABOR!!!!!!!!!!

  • This use to scare me but now I love this cat !

  • when i wuz 4 yrs old, i was so scared of this scene that i had my dad fastforward it until the next scene. sheesh i was such a spoiled brat!! now i love this scene....

  • Can you stand on your head?

  • the scariest part is at 2:40 where he's laughing histaricaly and then stops with a startling gasp. and then he disappears...

  • I'm kinda in love with the Cheshire cat! He's awesome! In my wonderland, Cheshire cats are running mad! ;)

  • 15 people cant stand on their head

  • I think once.. I wished for my birthday.. that I wanted a Cheshire Cat.

  • The Cheshire Cat always scared my mother when she was young.

  • This scene would be so cool if read by Stephen Fry

  • for some reason this version of the cat used to terrify me

  • @Musicaddict226 I know, it scared the shit out of me when I was a little kid. Especially the fact that he disappears and takes of his head D:

  • oooooh! Freaky! He's reciting the Jabberwocky OwO

  • this was my absolute favorite child hood movies (even before everyone decided to try and make it about LSD and shrooms) fucking love Alice in Wonderland.

  • 2:42 love it

  • I've never seen this movie before, but I am experienced with LSD and shrooms. Never had a bad trip yet.

This scene just freaked me out. What's that say about how fucked this movie is?

  • ah yes cheshire cat. "Much madness is divinest sense"--(dickinson) after all. loved him before the teens got all fanatic over tim burtin emo shit and while loving classic Disney openly was lame.

  • it makes me hav nightmares even if im 20 lol

  • love it!!

  • "can you stand on your head.?" lol the cat meant it literally.!!! wahahahaha :D

"i just wanted to ask u where i ought to go."

"that depends, where you are going to.."

    "well it doesn't really matter.."

"then it doesn't really matter which way you go.."

    hahahahaha.!!! :D

  • Most everyone's mad here...

  • "By the way whatever happened to that baby Alice?"

    "It...it turned into a cat."

    "I thought it might."

"Now wait, why would you ask me that when its very unlikely many people watching this will understand why you would?"

"Because dear,if you havent noticed,I'm not all there." *vanishes*

    Me: XD

For anyone who doesnt know,in the book,Alice holds a baby at one point that turns into a pig and runs off just before she meets Cheshire here.

I was excited to share this since its so sweetly wierd XD

  • @PennilessWriterB "Did you say 'pig' or 'fig'?"

  • @DaveLH Whoops! Meant to say pig both times XD

    My bad ^^;;;

  • The Cheshire Cat is awesome!!! Check out my time lapse painting of the Cheshire Cat on my channel! Thanks!

  • I like Cheshire cat!x3

  • this movie is much better wen u watch it high or drunk

  • the implication of drugs is everywhere in this movie <3

  • *hides behind Disney Cheshire Cat from Dragon's Lair 2 and American McGee's Cheshire Cat* I don't care how you do it. KEEP. THEM. AWAY. D8

  • The next time someone says you're mad, just think of these cat and say thanks!

  • he sounds like winnie the pooh

  • @LexiLithium HE IS WINNIE THE POOH!!!!! :D I keep finding out he's in more and more movies! It's so awesome! He's also the voice of Kaa in The Jungle Book and the Stork in Dumbo!!! <3

  • He was voiced by the late Sterling Holloway who also did the voice for Winnie the Pooh between the 60's and 80's. That would explain the similarity.

  • I really have to wonder why nobody's YTPd this scene yet. -_-;

  • He is the most coolest disney character alive. also the mad hatter. But, he is hilarious too and has a great voice 8D

  • My Faverite Disney character ever

CHESHER CAT RULES!!! He's purely epic in both movies.

  • I so want a tattoo of the cheshire cat soon. Fav disney character ever!

  • "Can you stand on your head?" :D

  • is the cheshire cat the same voice actor as winnie the pooh?

  • @mrfoozy47 ya :)

  • @mrfoozy47

lmao i always thought the same thing lmao

  • Wonderland would be the most awesome place to live,

    I love mad people!

but did you know that the guy who wrote the book was a pedophile who modled Alice after a real life little girl?

  • @ouagadogouooh No actually. Lewis Carrol wrote it about his daughter's slow descent into psychosis, poor girl.

  • @videorocker778 No, Lewis Carrol developed these stories from tales he told to the children of H. G. Liddell, the dean of Christ Church College, one of whom was named Alice. She was a friend of his.

  • @fighthomophobia11 Oh, really? Thanks so much for the clarification!

  • I'm thinkin about gettin this as my first tat.

  • think lewis carrol was sober when he wrote the book? B)

    most likely not..

  • I want to live in Wonderland

    I would fit perfectly there...

  • the cheshire cat is a BOSS

  • Favorite character since I was a little kid. I has good taste :D

  • "i just wanted to ask you wich way i ought to go.

well that depends on where u wanna get to.

    Well it really dosent matter.

then it really dosent matter wich way you go!"

    AMAZING!!!!

  • Cheshire cat is so charismatic it's ridiculous.

  • I wish he was my friend.

  • This used to scare me lol

  • I wish Cheshire would give me advice.

  • OMG Cheshire is brilliant. The highlight of Wonderland (besides the Hatter). I prefer this to the Stephen Fry version. They should have used the same voice :-(! The guy who plays Cheshire has an amazing voice that is soo hard to copy; why does it turn me on......? (wait, didn't he do Kaa and Pooh too?).... XD

  • Why, it's Pooh! And Kaa, as well :)

  • "You might have noticed that I'm not all there myself."

My favorite line in the whole movie!

  • ’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

    Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;

    All mimsy were the borogoves,

    And the mome raths outgrabe.

  • his voice reminds me of Kaa from the jungle book...

  • When I saw the commercial for the re-release of this movie some months ago, and they showed the clip of the Cat disappearing, laughing - and this was after I had read the original story - I thought 'That's a creepy/disturbing way of depicting when he disappeared from his tail to his grin...'

  • i love his voice its so cool..

  • Pfff, I can never decide which Cheshire Cat I like better, this one or Tim Burton's. Tim Burton's did get more screentime in his movie than the Disney one got in this movie, but this Cheshire Cat is so cool. I have plushies of both Cheshire Cats, just got the Disney one today.

  • @Ganon500 What?

  • @LindsayTheWolf13 sorry about that, I don't know what the heck I was doing... T_T

  • @Ganon500 It's okay

  • i believe he is reciteing "jabberowck". a poem by lewis carroll, the writer of alice's adventure's in wonderland :D

  • the cartoon one is better than tim burton one i mean i like the one that tim burton made its just that i like the cartoon one better

  • When I die, I want my heaven to turn out as Wonderland xD

  • I wanna stand on my head ^^

  • "Ohh, by the way, If you really wanna know, he went the way. ->"

    "Who Did?"

    "The White Rabbit"

    "He did?"

    "He did what?"

    Went that way ->"

    "Who did?"

    "The White Rabbit"

    "What Rabbit?"

    Love the Cheshire Cat :D

  • @MissMykenseyx3 ..."Cannn you stand on your head?"

    Lol :)

  • @sactothebay haha :D awesome♥

  • @MissMykenseyx3 Me and My freinds quote that regularly haha XD. Why did they mess up so badly on the recent 2010 cheshire cat?

  • @CatalystGamingUK ikr i think the original is ten times better :)

  • @MissMykenseyx3 Can you stand on your head? <3

  • honestly you are just a rad dude for uploading the good stuff, sans the bullshit.

  • As soon as I first saw this scene as a lad I LOVED the Cheshire Cat. XD

  • What breed cat is he? I don't think there IS a breed called a cheshire cat...

  • i love how he sings the jabberwocky poem...

  • When I die, I'm coming back as a Cheshire cat.

  • @edgexxi _Why wait until you die?
