On TVTropes, they call this a Zero-Approval Gambit, where a character furthers a noble goal by completely destroying their own reputation. Sialeeds' worked, I'd say, considering how badly she trashed both the Godwins and Barrows from within.

Sialeed....her death was sad. I mean, damn you need to understand the politics to understand her reasons lol. She's a hero in her own right...going down in history as a traitor but in reality, she did it to help her country even further.

Honestly, as good of a character Sialeeds was, I couldn't wait to fight her. I knew it was coming and I wanted to take her apart. A well-played fight and great for the story. Suikoden 5 all the way!

i alway think that it wold be lyon that wold betray you not sialess cause in all suidoken execpt 3 your best friend betray you exemple jowy in suidoken 2 but in the end she somehow close tou you is you aunt after all

This soundtrack is often associated with Sialeeds, though I tend more to picture the battle with Galleon when I hear this track (as that's the first time you hear it).

Great game Suikoden 5 was.

First time I played up to the point where she turned, I thought it was somehow my fault, cause I didn't use her much. Saw the war continuing, but not Sialeeds switching sides. I don't care what anybody says, least of all Sialeeds herself. If you prevent the Princess from switching sides to end the war, take her back, and then attack your own nephew twice, you switched sides!

@OzaiFan If the princess had been taken back and the war ended right there, there would still be too much corruption in Falena, and ruling it properly would have been a difficult, if not impossible job. This is why Sialeeds defects, to make sure that the Godwins and Barows houses are destroyed before the prince takes over. To do this, she had to make herself an enemy of him as to not seem like it was his idea and prevent the people losing favor of him.

Agreed, she wasn't betraying the Prince, just the Prince's cause. She was wrong in doing so, but she also had legitimate reasons to do so.

She was half betraying, she whanted too (as i managed to understand) rid falena from the barrows and the godwins so a struggle like this would not happen again (but i could be utterly wrong)

That was indeed her intention. In the end, she succeded. Course, at a very tragic cost.

If Gizel was with Sialeed and they together would the story be more exciting was if Gizel turns bad it would make a more tragic story with more of a plot .

Sialeeds also didn't really betray the prince, she was wrong in what she was doing, but she had good intentions.

Sialees is a great character indeed, but ehi.. Kyle is very amazing! XD very funny and it's the "Flik" (suikoden 2 chara) of the game, half warrior half mage! Anyway.. great song!

OH man, this song, although it's a battle song, makes me cry because it's Sialeed's last battle. Her death, along with Gizel's, made me cry so much.
