The memories are rushing back as I hear this...Damn!!!! This is just about the time you start sipping on that "Punch" and biting on some orange slices. Those of you who were there know what I'm talking about:)
The whole club would go totally black and as the beat builds up and the circular lights would appear very dim until the whole club was on the dance floor screaming at Larry. Larry Levan Paradise Gargage will lives on forever!
klassiker !
MANUEL GOTTSCHING E2-E4 IS AN AWESOME SOUND ON THE RICHARD LONG & ASSOCIATES SOUND SYSTEM INSTALLED IN THE NYC AND NORTH JERSEY KLUBZ. I WOULD LOFT INTO A DREAM SPACE WHILE I WAS AWAKE. THE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF AND INTO OUTERSPACE I WOULD GO!!!!! CLOSE YOUR EYES AND BE ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE TO E2-E4 IF THE LIGHTS WERE ON LIKE IN KLUB ZANZIBAR 430 BROAD STREET NEWARK, NJ OR PARADISE GARAGE 84 KING STREET NYC!!!!!
Thanks for the post! This was Larry levan's favorite ending song at the Garage. Brings back so many happy memories of the energy of the club where we all had fun and loved the music. On the sound system they had it kicked ass!! This will always be a true Paradise Garage Classic!
The Genesis of Trance. Believe it or not early 80's (Larry Levan- Paradise Garage NYC) although Kraftwerk preceded this "electronic vibe" during the late 70's. Germany was onto something. LOL!
I bought this record..12 inch..man must have been in 1985..Memory serves me correctly i paid $13.00 for it..It is still in mint condition..I just to collect club recods back in the day.
i remember; i actually found this record 15 yrs ago in arecord shop. i got them to hold it for a week. i came back 8 days alter. it was gone. the one that got away.
this is one of those rare bits of music which its impossible NOT to feel alive when hearing. its so refreshingly beautiful and free. gottsching is a technical master at creating vibrant melody. this is really the founding. definitive dance album. sublime
Great to hear this again. I had to fly to Münich to get a E2-E4 vinyl copy of this. What fun. Later the Italian disco scene Sueño Latino used this very cleverly in their Sueño Latino saga of 12"rs Check it out here. ZER07
Meditating sounds ...Sequencers , beats & guitar - This is perfect for long journey in the front of a train ( T.G.V. ) Thanks so much for nice sharing for all 6 parts this long track ...Thanks so much for Manuel Goetsching for inspired song like that!!!!
What's the problem? Sueno Latino was a remix of this track, and a good, fresh and original one. And you could read 'Manuel Göttsching' on the label. No thieves involved.
I hear that, issabella369. After Larry Levan adopted it as his warm-up track for Paradise Garage, it spread through the consciousness of pretty much every Manhattanite. Still lives on in its gentle urgency
@bodoboi I have been searching for this song for years! I remember when Larry Lavan used to play this as his warm-up and for what seemed like a break in between at the Garage. There will never be another place like the Garage and there will NEVER be another cut like this one that moved..moves me so much!!!!
@meyou3194 - have you seen the British documentary, "History of House". It references the Garage's seminal influence in the first episode. Do a search on YT, asposted by 'chelskifi' and go to 4mins10secs.
Released in E2-E4 by Krautrock outfit Ash Ra Tempel's guitarist Manuel Göttsching. This hour long track was sampled by Sueno Latino for, erm, Sueno Latino.
