She has a pillow under her dress because the girl she was portraying in the real skit was pregnant. I loved this skit and I have loved every imitation of it too. Did you know in real life lawrence welk didn't allow his ladies to appear pregnant? I guess he hid them behind flowers or scenes or those poofy dresses the women wore. He also didn't like fat women. If you've ever noticed nobody was fat on his shows EVER.
