  • can you open 2000/2003 word documents in word 2010?

  • @totopoo123 Yes you can - File > Open. Ensure that the drop down above the Open and Cancel buttons is set to All Word Documents

  • @ThomasMike67 thank you! =)

  • Useful tutorial. I have a question for you, and others. I wan to add a comment on the margins of a Word document. I used to be able to do this on Word 2003 by clicking 'Insert' and 'add comment'. However, I have just started to use Word 2010. Here, I'm struggling to find that feature that would enable me to mark students' assignments with comments on the side. Thank you so much in advance for your advice.

  • .... ThomasMike, Interesting video. I haven't got Word2010, would you tell me if I need to have computer connected to the internet to be able to use this software? I need Word 2010 for a PC that is not connected to the net.

  • @ZachClooney Hi. No you don't need to be connected to the Internet to use Word 2010

  • @ThomasMike67 Thanks for that response. So, a PC doesn' not need to be connected the the internet to use Word 2010. However, would I be able to 'install' it to a PC that is not connected the the PC? I phoned PC World's Helpline on this same issue. And I was told that a PC needs to be connected to the internet to be able to install Word 2010. I'm confused now! Word 2003's disc could be installed into any PC, and internet not required. Are you 100% sure about what you say?

  • @ZachClooney You don't need to be connected to the Internet to install it, however you do need to be connected to the Internet to ACTIVATE Word 2010 - it contacts Microsoft. If you don't activate within 30 days, many of the functions are disabled. Having said that, if you don't have an Internet connection, it is possible to activate by telephone - they provide a phone number when you install the software

  • @ThomasMike67 Thanks for that considered response.

  • every 3 years or so microsoft office is getting complicated and complicated D:
