That wasn't much justice served,I think the Springers deserve more of a death sentence for what they done! They treated that poor girl worse then they would treat an animal.. My heart goes out to Calista and her sisters for suffering from their parents inhuman behavior.. I hope those 2 animals rot in prison for a long time..
the man got 25 to 50 years and the woman got 19 to 50 years. They really need to be checked for mental illness.This is the kind of mental illness that leads people to abuse their children, their wives, or their husbands. I watched the trial on t.v. and don't see how the jury could have found them not guilty of murder. I bet if Marsha Springer's dog had of been chained in the house she would have gotten it out! Furthermore, if Marsha Springer was "legally blind", how the hell was she home schooling Calista? Shame on the Springer's and their remaining daughters and SHAME ON THE JURY!!!

It's a shame the poor kid had to go through that. It made me sick to watch the procedings, then to let them off was amazing.

As the jury, all you had to know was two things:
1. She was chained to her bed in such a way that she couldn't move.
2. The mother got out without a scratch.
At the very least it's manslaughter because she was kept from escaping the fire and they knew this was a possibility.
Hopefully they get the max jail time!
Does anyone know whether they were seeking the death penalty?
Better prosecution, investigative work, and jury selection would have gotten the murder charge.
