Hi Gary, good on you for sharing your talents and also for sharing other people's knowhow. It will be a great place to come. I would love to see some horses and other animals on too. Being from Australia, we don't have access to the teachings or the wood that you do over there as we are in the early stages over here and as far as I'm concerned, the more people out there willing to pass along info and expertise the longer carving will be a part of our lives. Thanks again and good on ya sport.
Thank you for you kind comments and Ideas Brendan. I will try to do a podcast where I discuss sharpening, I know it is one that is difficult for beginners and for some that have carved a while. I try to keep it simple.
@3CrossesWoodcarving Gary I liked your Santa Tutorial and looking forward to your pod casts, I carved a Santa last year and gave it to my grand daughter for her 1st Christmas.
This is exciting because I've watched your other videos and marveled at your skill. All the ideas you mentioned are super but I also thought of the biggest issue for new carvers...sharpening. I have learned to sharpen my knives but it was a long process because I watched too many different techniques before settling on what I thought was the most straightforward.
This project is very generous of you but, be assured, it will be greatly appreciated.
It looks like you have been playing those fancy video games on the comp. w/ those headsets Gary(fess up... call of duty ?). Just kidding buddy,lol- sounds great and good luck w/ the upcoming video/blog and website.
Hello Buddy, Well to confess used to play a whole lot of Counterstrike, but no more. The headset I just bought to do the viedo podcast with my new web cam.
