How come Ugandan reporters never talk? Kampala was also much cleaner back in 2001 when I was there last? Is Museveni getting lazy? Still love Kampala, Nairobi is great but there is always that special thing about Kampala.
unleashing vicious violence on UNARMED citizens is unacceptable....Museveni's uniformed goons brutal reaction to protesters can not be justified by with 'a majority votes' ....
@frankmasiko: arrest them...take them to court...u must be a weird human being supporting Ug gov't or any gov't vicious crackdown on it's people...M7 now joins Gaddafy n Syrian prez as ruthless heartless beasts
@siasabora will arresting them feed me and my children who dont care about you museveni besigye and your riots. all we want is peace but the rest of yall just want to eat.
@frankmasiko: violence begets more violence....this could spiral right out of control. He won the elections, what other legitimacy is M7 seeking? Let them pple walk...why stop them? Police should be clearing traffic for the people to walk...to and from work...that it. Y clobber them like snakes?
@siasabora i get your pont and i know you are right, but remember we used to have calm peacefull protests but some kamikazi style elements with motives to loot and steal took advantage of the peacefull protests and started rioting at every protest like mabira. so the goverment ccalled to al politicians to always inform the goverment and plan with them. Besigye wants to pick his own protest routes ignoring the fact that they are key business areas.
@frankmasiko; U absolutely right. Besigye should be held to account if he is deliberately causing havoc to the rule of law and order...protests must be carried out responsibly. I seen pple protest by walking in circles on a 40 ft square space only...waving placards and they made their point. All yu need is the press covering it.
It is no to vandalism. Private property must be protected. Thanks.
the year is 1981. Museveni, has his convoy stopped at a UNLA roadblock in Kireka. The occupants are him, his wife Janet Museveni, Muhoozi Kainerugaba. A few days after that incident, Salim Saleh was arrested and tortured . This prompted Museveni to declare that if his young brother were to die he would personally shoot Oyite Ojok.
The REDCROSS confirms one person dead and over hundreds injured. Redcross secretary General Micheal Nataka confirms.
Nataka says the patients were mainly from areas of Najjanankumbi, Ntinda, Kasubi, Kireka, Kasangati, Kawempe and Kiwatule. He says most of the injuries were caused by consumption of teargas, stones and beatings.
Latest reports from Wobulenzi, approximately 30 miles north of Kampala are that the Gulu-Kampala Highway has been blocked by demonstrators. The police are shooting all over the place.
KAMPALA PROTESTS: live updates In Namasuba along Entebbe reports that security personnel are disarming journalists and every person holding either a still or video camera.
Love your neighbor as you love your self.
