  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (January 9, The Baptism of Our Lord), we opened our service with this hymn. However, it was to the tune, FREUT EUCH, IHR LIEBEN, composed by Leonhart Schroter, 1540-1602. It is #311 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.

  • This and Sufjan inspired me to seek out a banjo to play. You wouldn't think it could be beautiful sounding. To many its just a simple instrument and normally not taken very seriously.
