MGS FOR LIFE! i remember playing the very first one for ps1 and just loving every bit of it, and then playing sons of liberty and loving every bit of it, and then snake eater! still a constant and persistant amazing game! played mgs4 and still found no fall, and played peace walker and was still in love with metal gear. Kojimi is amazing! Snake is the greatest videogame character of all time, and Metal Gear Solid is the greatest video game of all time.

really sucks that its over...but would you rather have a true meanigful story? or just another god of war or halo? what makes mg unique is that its not about "pwning noobs" or how many kill streaks you got. its about the story. i know it sounds really cheesy but i felt like i was right there with snake every step of the way.

Personally, I don't count what happens in twin snakes as part of the story. Since it had some changes from the original Metal Gear Solid. Everything that happened in the original is what happened. :) If I remember rightly, Grey Fox doesn't throw his sword at the raydome does he? He shoots it. Snake doesn't jump onto Rex's foot either. :P

Is really MGS:PO that bad? I allways saw it as something you play when you travel or so, never seen it as a big game in the series but I do wonder if i shall buy a PSP for PO and PW.
@Anaverageguy41 I could get over the shitty gameplay. But the story just BLOWS! It adds nothing to the series, ruins some cherished parts (Gray Fox's backstory), and demeans the Boss' death in MGS3 (yet 4 and PW still makes it out to be a noble sacrifice.) It's just BB fan-fiction.
I got a feeling that Kojima dislikes MPO, which is why he didn't bother mentioning it in MGS4 (save for some pics which don't really matter) and PW (it's even called the "missing link", something MPO was called too.)
@TheTitanic56 Big Boss was in his early 60s when he fought Snake in OH and ZL, but Ocelot was in his 70s when he did all those awesome CQC moves in MGS4. I doubt Big Boss would let age be the deciding factor when going up against a rookie.

Seems like there is some debates about Snakes aging. If I remember right, part of Los Infatilos Diablos was a genetic aging disorder so that if these "Perfect Soldiers" fell into the wrong hands, or defected that it wouldn't be for too long. If I missed some details sorry, but there are easily 20-30 sideplots and conspiracies going on, it sometimes gets hard to follow them all.
In Mgs 1 snake was in his mid thirties in Mgs2 he was hitting his mid 40's and in Mgs4 10 years after Mgs2 he was in his 60's roughly but had the body of an old man but he was still sharp as ever when it came to combat he still had all his skills the only thing that changed was his body.

@ChristopherSEAY123 I am not sure if you responeded differently to your own post... but solid and liquid are not EXACT clones of BIG BOSS, they are different because of Eva being their surrogate mother, thats why in MGS4 Solid Snake started to have mutated Fox Die in his system, if he was an EXACT clone of BIG BOSS he would already been killed by it in MGS1
Have you played fully through MGS 4? SPOILER: The dead body was Solidus, even fooling Big Mama (Eva). Solidus and Big Boss may have different personalities, clothes, and Big Boss is missing an eye, but Solidus was meant to look exactly like Big Boss.

I think It's pretty obvious why Solid Snake suddently got his aging accelerated. We all heard about the cloned sheep Dolly, didn't we? And we all know she died young, because she was theoretically born with her cells being at the age of the sheep she was cloned from. Maybe Solid Snake was also born with Big-Boss's nearly-middle aged cells, and when he got to his 40's, he already had the bone & cell structure of an old man, like Big Boss.
Yeah. There's more to it then that, it's like a sub-section of the shells being shorter. They deteroriate as you grow older. And as a result his would be tiny when he was made.
that would be one of the causes but it may be the fact that he was infected with FOXDIE in which he was 30 may have a side effect of accelerated aging and him being in his 40's in mgs4 he would have the body of a 80 year old

@badkiller2 Unfortunately, all that I could find online at the moment was a summary of the Roslin Institute's findings, which isn't very specific, but they do include the statement that the telomeres were restored to their original length during the cloning process. They also state that Dolly did have short telomeres for her age, but that this was not attributable to advanced ageing. Dolly didn't show any other signs of advanced ageing, and the the disease she died of was common among sheep.

The disease she died of is common enough among sheep that age that it can't be wholly attributed to her age, though like any disease for any animal, the risk is increased by age. She may have had a compromised immune system because of imperfections in the cloning, but I am not sure if there is evidence to support that.

@badkiller2 you aren't far off, but from what i've read, in the MGS universe cloning has been perfected, but you can't just make some clones and send them out to war as babies. their aging process is accelerated, so that they can gestate and become battle-ready as soon as possible. a negative side effect of that is the acceleration never stops, so snake ends up looking almost older than his "father"

Seems like there is some debates about Snakes aging. If I remember right, part of Los Infatilos Diablos was a genetic aging disorder so that if these "Perfect Soldiers" fell into the wrong hands, or defected that it wouldn't be for too long. If I missed some details sorry, but there are easily 20-30 sideplots and conspiracies going on, it sometimes gets hard to follow them all.

In Mgs 1 snake was in his mid thirties in Mgs2 he was hitting his mid 40's and in Mgs4 10 years after Mgs2 he was in his 60's roughly but had the body of an old man but he was still sharp as ever when it came to combat he still had all his skills the only thing that changed was his body.

@ChristopherSEAY123 I am not sure if you responeded differently to your own post... but solid and liquid are not EXACT clones of BIG BOSS, they are different because of Eva being their surrogate mother, thats why in MGS4 Solid Snake started to have mutated Fox Die in his system, if he was an EXACT clone of BIG BOSS he would already been killed by it in MGS1

Have you played fully through MGS 4? SPOILER: The dead body was Solidus, even fooling Big Mama (Eva). Solidus and Big Boss may have different personalities, clothes, and Big Boss is missing an eye, but Solidus was meant to look exactly like Big Boss.

I think It's pretty obvious why Solid Snake suddently got his aging accelerated. We all heard about the cloned sheep Dolly, didn't we? And we all know she died young, because she was theoretically born with her cells being at the age of the sheep she was cloned from. Maybe Solid Snake was also born with Big-Boss's nearly-middle aged cells, and when he got to his 40's, he already had the bone & cell structure of an old man, like Big Boss.
Just an assumption though.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!.

Yeah. There's more to it then that, it's like a sub-section of the shells being shorter. They deteroriate as you grow older. And as a result his would be tiny when he was made.

that would be one of the causes but it may be the fact that he was infected with FOXDIE in which he was 30 may have a side effect of accelerated aging and him being in his 40's in mgs4 he would have the body of a 80 year old

@badkiller2 Unfortunately, all that I could find online at the moment was a summary of the Roslin Institute's findings, which isn't very specific, but they do include the statement that the telomeres were restored to their original length during the cloning process. They also state that Dolly did have short telomeres for her age, but that this was not attributable to advanced ageing. Dolly didn't show any other signs of advanced ageing, and the the disease she died of was common among sheep.

@badkiller2 She was 6 when she died, so she wasn't young. The disease she died of is common enough among sheep that age that it can't be wholly attributed to her age, though like any disease for any animal, the risk is increased by age. She may have had a compromised immune system because of imperfections in the cloning, but I am not sure if there is evidence to support that.

@badkiller2 you aren't far off, but from what i've read, in the MGS universe cloning has been perfected, but you can't just make some clones and send them out to war as babies. their aging process is accelerated, so that they can gestate and become battle-ready as soon as possible. a negative side effect of that is the acceleration never stops, so snake ends up looking almost older than his "father"
