@EconAtheist The moving screen isn't the problem, it's the fact that the PF doesn't want to rotate off Dirk on a off-ball screen. If they did, you'd have a horrible mismatch of Beaubois's defender vs Dirk, which is an open jumper as far as I'm concerned.

@EconAtheist Depends on what you count as a moving screen. Personally, I like to think of moving screen as people shuffling their feet to get INTO the way of the defender. From the video, most of those are just Dirk shuffling his feet to stay upright. He could've flopped and get a foul, but I think that would ruin the game. It's similar to the Chandler screen in last year's playoffs, where he pinned Haslem to give Dirk room to shoot. He was set before Haslem, but adjusted his feet after contact.

@Stephthatackle What I said had nothing to do with the Mavs. I was referring to the fact that they both have massive wingspans, although Rondo is a bit taller. And Beaubois seems to have a scoring mentality, whereas Rondo clearly has a pass first mentality, at least to me.

its similar to this play for lebron where they use a decoy pick and roll with mo williams to free up lebron for a backscreen to the basket for an open dunk.

they used to run this nearly once a game and nobody could stop it. if you step to lebron mo or whoevers screening him get an open look

Easy. Dirk sets the screen. The true help guy on something like this is gonna be the guy covering Dirk at the top of the key. Other team has to pick their poison, the alley oop to Roddy or a leaving one of the best shooters in the history of the NBA open for a straight away shot.
