I have NEVER! seen a Coast Gurad commercial Advertised! EVER!!! Where I live heck! before this i'v never seena coastie commercial period! I honestly didnt even know they made them! haha! the other branches def put alot more effort in their recruiting ads ha
@LimboBeaver Hey, pushin papers ain't such a bad deal. Prior to coming to the CG I was a Navy Hosptial Corpsman. Would have liked to have been one in the CG too, but there were no openings when I joined. Did almost a year as a deck ape, now that sucks. Went on SK school, and became a paper pusher. Granted no heroics, but one lives longer that way. Still got to see the world too. !
Surprisingly, she is unable to jump the steps and suddenly is running across a river and jumping throughout a forest prior to climb a rock...that´s not what I expect for a coastie!. Of course is only a promotional video, but Coast Guard spirit is not like running a tritahlon. Furthermore, in 2008 Leslie Brown was accepted as the FIRST woman into the U.S. Coast Guard’s Flight School as part of the Blue 21 Flight Initiative (this video could be the promo of a new Nike or Adidas product).
The msg works but they could have done a much better PR piece showing ppl doing their jobs (i.e. Rescues ect.) with the same msg. I guess better than the old cheesy "jobs that matter" campaign.
