  • All the oil field trash bunch down in Texas wish you the best for Christmas and we are rather upset that you have neuropathy and are praying for you. • awesome... one of my fav gospel hymns

  • @mafiosa617 Thank you.

  • It's a joy to hear you so "in the zone" of what I grew up hearing in New Orleans. What a command of that piano. Thank you. Alas, my training was all classical and now at retirement age, I'm saying to heck with it--I want to play all over the piano songs people (and I) want to hear. Do you work off an arrangement--or is this entirely you feeling your way through the melody line?

  • @karonrilling It's just me feeling the dong and playing by ear. Thanks.

  • Allen, don´t stop .

  • can't get any work done for listening to your music. if i could play like you, i would be at the piano all the time !

  • hey you got hair!!! lol

  • @Mnwelder Thank you.

  • Hi Allen, If you still take request, ive got one for you. I remember my grandmother playing a tune when we were little to cheer us up. We called it the Chewing Gum song. One of the main lines in the song is, "Does you chewing gum loose its flavor, on the bed post overnight". I guess you would consider it an old rag-time song.

    Take Care,

    Alvin Ledwig - Houston Tx.

  • I wish I knew all of the Chewing gum song, but alas, I don't. Sorry.

  • I have a special request that I hope to hear. Can you play the Chattanooga Sunshine Boy in boogie woogie. This is a memory from my childhood. I had an older sister and she played well. I would appreciate this very much. Bless you.

  • I am sorry, but I don't know Chattanooga Shoe Shine boy.

  • I love your playing. I am from Louisiana and I love the way you played Just a Closer Walk. Can you play Professor Longhairs Boogie Woogie. You made my day, Many Thanks.

  • I don't know Professor Longhair's Boogie Woogie. Sorry.

  • This reminds me of my version of Amazing Grace (Boogie Style) that me and a member from my church are going to sing in December.

  • How nice!

  • Woah! I wasn't sure what to expect here, but that was stellar! My grandmother used to sing this while playing the accordion. I love it!

  • thank you.

  • Great version of this tune. Thanks for putting it on

  • thanks

  • Beautiful rendition of this beautiful old Gospel song. Thanks for playing it on YouTuber.God bless you Allen Dale!

  • God Bless you also!

  • My mother in law is slowing drifting away and asked me to sing this at her memorial service. In my research, I came across this and wanted to tell you it is absolutely beautiful. Amazing pianist!

  • Thanks. May God be with you and your Mother-in Law.

  • Played this as an organ meditation at my grandmother's funeral. Gorgeous hymn.

  • I agree. Thanks.

  • how and where do I learn to play like this?

  • A good teacher, (which I am NOT), and a lot of prayers to God! LOL

  • i THINK THIS FANtastic, I have never been to New Orleans but, I could not find this hymn in any old hymnal I had at home but it was suggested to me by my Mother to look on the internet and she said it was an old new orleans song that she heard and she and my dad also went to preservvation Hll many years ago.

  • Cool! Thanks.

  • You said that you hoped I would like it.

What else is there to do but like it? Fantastic job, really top notch.

  • thanks

  • We did this in my Dixieland jazz band, started this way, then picked it up for the singer and solos.

  • Oh, I see.

  • Thank you a lot, you made me cry.

    Amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks

  • That was great. The first time I herd that song played was in New Orleans, at the preservation hall. While I was there I asked Ben Jaffe if I could play a little ragtime durring a set break, he said yes and it was the happiest day of my life. I cant read music, I just impervise. I play this on youtube and sing it......if you could call it that. But let me tell you, I dont hold a candle compared to you. You are truly Blessed. Keep it up, and if you have a minute give my vid a listen. gigantiscrap

  • magnifique :D

  • thanks

  • that was beautiful! very nice. i'm impressed! 5*'s -April

  • thanks.

  • This is the best version of this song Ive ever heard. As always, beautiful playing!

  • thanks!

  • Im singing this song at a memorial service next week. I think it should be sung like this but my mother says it should be sung very slow as it would be more appropriate for the type fo service. What do you think?

  • I am a former penticostal. Even slow songs have to sound a bit happy! LOL... This tune is supposed to be gut wrenching and mournful, but I don't like the beat.

  • You play it so well with that old southern tinge to it, that New Orleans Jazz. You do it right.

  • Thanks!

  • I am so happy you added this song. It is my all time favorite gospel song! Thanks, Steve

  • You're Welcome, Steve.

  • Oh, those heavenly creatures all smile now , I believe :)

  • thanks
