Hi Allen Just me again watching you play one last tune before I go to bed, each time I watch you play this tune I like it more and more,[ and cry each time,] but what else would you expect from such a great musician, You definitely are the absolute best, Thats my opinion and I,m sticking to it. Good night, take care and God Bless. Your Aussie fan Joy
All the oil field trash bunch down in Texas wish you the best for Christmas and we are rather upset that you have neuropathy and are praying for you. You will be proud to know that one of your videos "inspired" one of the gang to start taking piano lessons along with his 8 year old daughter. They do a pretty good duet of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star right now!! Amazing the people you touch and dont even realize it sometimes. Merry Christmas and God Bless.
@ddd3240 Than you Gang in Texas oil fields. I am glad that father and Daughter are learning how to play the piano. My neuropathy has been almost non existing the past couple of day. I am happy. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all yt'all Sincerely, Allen Dale.

Your Aussie fan Joy
@HorseRiderLass I don't think I will have time nor money to make a CD for you, but I would fly to Australia to play it in person if I could. Thanks for the nice compliments. I have too may from you to answer all of them. My neuropathy has nearly beat me now. I just listen to me play when I was in good form, and smile at happy memories. Have a good rest and take care.
Hi Allen Here I am again watching you play this tune with tears in my eyes, I play this one and You Always Hurt The One You Love, regularly as I love the way you play them, Love all your tunes but these are my favourites. Your Aussie fan Joy
Hi Allen This is my favourite song; It brings tears to my eyes when you play it Keep up the good workespecially when you up the tempo. I keep hitting replay about 3 or 4 times.
Nice...He makes the melody sound like it`s coming from his left hard. I love it. He`s showing me how to play piano and he doesn`t even know it.. awsome
THIS IS GORGOUS! I WOULD BE HONORED TO HAVE IT PLAYED AT MY FUNERAL,BUT I MIGHT JUST GET UP AND DANCE MY WAY TO HEAVEN LISTENING TO YOUR MUSIC. THANKS
All I have to say about this Gentleman is that he's got class and brings a message across so define and warm!! I also play piano and by all means can do the half of what this man can put out! The liasions and harmony that fills in so well an art never to be forgotten! You've got it my friend and thanks for the sharing!!
What a man with multi talent with such rendition of Just A Closer With Thee! Some great expertise that I could listen too day in and out and not ever getting tired off! Beautiful work my friend!
Wow!! I have been playing guitar for many years, but I think I will just throw it out the window and start practicing keys!! As much as I have tried to get this song down with many guitar influences it still sounds better on piano. Awesome post!! Thanks
It's a joy to hear you so "in the zone" of what I grew up hearing in New Orleans. What a command of that piano. Thank you. Alas, my training was all classical and now at retirement age, I'm saying to heck with it--I want to play all over the piano songs people (and I) want to hear. Do you work off an arrangement--or is this entirely you feeling your way through the melody line?
@allendale1962 Allen, lots of us love you style, probably more that you realize. May God bless and protect you. And thank you for the joy that you and your piano bring to so many of us.
Hi Allen, If you still take request, ive got one for you. I remember my grandmother playing a tune when we were little to cheer us up. We called it the Chewing Gum song. One of the main lines in the song is, "Does you chewing gum loose its flavor, on the bed post overnight". I guess you would consider it an old rag-time song.
I have a special request that I hope to hear. Can you play the Chattanooga Sunshine Boy in boogie woogie. This is a memory from my childhood. I had an older sister and she played well. I would appreciate this very much. Bless you.
I love your playing. I am from Louisiana and I love the way you played Just a Closer Walk. Can you play Professor Longhairs Boogie Woogie. You made my day, Many Thanks.
My mother in law is slowing drifting away and asked me to sing this at her memorial service. In my research, I came across this and wanted to tell you it is absolutely beautiful. Amazing pianist!
i THINK THIS FANtastic, I have never been to New Orleans but, I could not find this hymn in any old hymnal I had at home but it was suggested to me by my Mother to look on the internet and she said it was an old new orleans song that she heard and she and my dad also went to preservvation Hll many years ago.
That was great. The first time I herd that song played was in New Orleans, at the preservation hall. While I was there I asked Ben Jaffe if I could play a little ragtime durring a set break, he said yes and it was the happiest day of my life. I cant read music, I just impervise. I play this on youtube and sing it......if you could call it that. But let me tell you, I dont hold a candle compared to you. You are truly Blessed. Keep it up, and if you have a minute give my vid a listen. gigantiscrap
Im singing this song at a memorial service next week. I think it should be sung like this but my mother says it should be sung very slow as it would be more appropriate for the type fo service. What do you think?
I am a former penticostal. Even slow songs have to sound a bit happy! LOL... This tune is supposed to be gut wrenching and mournful, but I don't like the beat.
