i think booth film show a horror and tragic war. Booth film are classic and with Brothers in Arms is great history lesson.

And Saving Private Ryan doesn't?! The Thin Red Line is like a poem about war. It trys to convey the emotions of war, where Saving Private Ryan tries to convey the feeling and sights of war. The more realistic aspects (mostly in the first 20 minuets.) Both are good, but SPR is a far more realistic portrayal, character wise, of your average infantryman at war.

The only thing I liked in SPR was the Omaha Beach scene; the rest was just naive and nearly propagandistic. The Thin Red Line is much better in many ways.

But if you really want to watch a great anti-war-movie, you should watch Tae Guk Gi: Brotherhood of War. Its really worth to take a look on it.

soundtrack to the T.R.L. wrote a Zimmer - but in he's album he take 2 or 3 songs from Melanesian Choir - "the blessed islad" who also make a soundtrack album - so we have 2 soundtrack album of T.R.L. 1)Zimmer (with 3 songs of Melan. Choir. And 2) Melenesian choir.
