  • why were all the adds so serious.bordering on scary

  • sucks you had to go to galway just to get uno paint lol

  • wow things were bad in the 90s. so bad that yoplait couldn't find two women, for their advert, who were able to act.

  • what an awful Heineken advert

  • Is that bimbo from "the van" at 0.15 ??

  • ha! 62punt for a tv licence! it were a rip off then, and its an even bigger one now!!! Ah the memories tho.... XD

  • Wish I had that Aero chocolate.

  • lol £62 for a tv license back then.comeback to how much its now.

  • A pound a week? No bothers man. That's still less than half of what I pay for a TV licence today.

  • Cadet, rot your teeth

  • The Opel Vectra....LOL....i wouldn't touch them with a 40 foot barge pole in 2010, never mind that heap of shit back in 1990

  • Bad TV license ads. A scourge that will never die.

  • The days when there was a brief pause between the adverts.. Vintage RTE stuff there!

  • Utopia me bollox!

  • i want an Aero now

  • How manky must clothes have been in 1990, Bold washing powder has been improved so many times since then

Though in fairness nowadays they do get my whites whiter than white and smell lemony fresh, hmm to die for

  • All the voiceover guys were English!!! never noticed that before. Barely remember these ads, but I do remember that Yoplait packaging, and the network 2 logo. Happy Days :)

  • god, i remember that network 2 logo, good times,

  • 2Litre Cadete?!?!? mind blown.

  • @Owwmykneecap truly shocking

  • judge reinhold has a great nordie accent

  • yoplait diet yoghurt-steals you away from your friends

  • its the same voice over guy in every ad!lol

  • It's only £1 a week and it's the law! Hahaha

  • Cola Cadesh Cola Cadesh!!!

  • God...are you sure this is 1990??? those 'hip and trendy' people in the heineken ad looked like they stepped right out of 1979!!

  • I have no social life because I sit around eating diet yogurt all day, that's why you haven't seen me around.

    Sure, likely excuse, Louise!!!

  • LMAO!!

  • The Cadet ad IS a lot older- I can remember it in the 70s. Where the guy talks in the middle used to be no talking, the lyrics were "Cadet Lemon Soda with Lime" repeated twice. I remember seeing this ad early nineties and remembering it from many years before.

  • that Cadet ad looks like it was made 15 years earlier.

  • now i know why I drink so much the fucking beer ads from when I was a kid

  • anyone know the name of the song on the rennies ad?

  • that TV Licence AD was filmed in donneybrook

  • of course it was, across the road from RTE.

  • How in the name of God did any of these ads aired sell the products featured? Yes, that has to be Frank Kelly on the cadet ad. That one is going to be playing in my head forever after seeing it again!

  • The "Cadet white lemonade" piece of the Catet ad has been burned in to my brain for years now, as has the Opel slogan at the end of their ad. Creepy to think this was 18 years ago, I was in denial for a while thinking the date was wrong!

  • Jaysis, I remember that aero ad too. I was 8.

And "Look at opel now!". Imprinted on my brain.

That Cadet ad is quite insane isn't it?

  • go on the cadet

  • did they have this in america?

  • lord no, no way could you have cadet there, its totally irish

  • & whats rong w/that?

  • Jesus, I remember that Aero ad, and I was only 4 in 1990!

  • they did play it for a little while after 1990 cause i remember it and i was born in 1990

  • I was always annoyed that the British Heineken ads weren't shown on RTE or UTV.

That Cadet advert, and the Flash ad which follows, are definitely not of 1990 vintage.

Is that 2FM DJ Simon Young voicing the Uno paints card advert?

  • Yes it is Simon Young, the former 2FM DJ on the Uno paints ad. The Cadet ad seems older than 1990! I'm sure the voice at the very end of that ad is that of actor Frank Kelly, best known as Fr Jack on 'Father Ted'

  • Do you have the Golden crown animated advert where the king invites a pot bellied dragon to his court?

  • @3castle - Thanks a million, brings back plenty of memories. Youtube is great for this sort of Nostalgia.
