I think one of my favorite lines in this movie has to be about Brendan: "He's got this disease where his head's shaved except he doesn't have to shave it because he can't grow any hair in the first place".  Such a roundabout, complicated way of saying such a simple thing, and it's so Wes Anderson-ish.

It might be an Indian thing. I was in India a couple years ago, and the strict necessity for shoes was not so strongly enforced.

@fabzistimeless Well, they're not that destitute, they can afford shoes. But they are what can be called "lower middle class", depending on their job. Their income isn't really that good at all. Most of them haven't received education. Actually I've hardly even seen any "stewardesses" on the trains here, mostly men bringing the food carts etc.

But here, If you notice, she isn't wearing her salwar either, I think she was just chilling in her room and ran out to see Jack.
