I would have left the auto in and added a can of ass whoop and flipped the air cleaner over for some real excitement especially when hitting the button for the nitrous! Have the engine blue printed and balanced and see the magic happen !
@beachintl I didnt see anything in that video of him driving recklessly or speeding, or anything that could be considered illegal. Shifting through the gears, even quickly is not illegal and you couldnt even see the speedo.
Trans noise will be easily heard over the exhaust if it's an M22. You can still hear M20's and M21's too, but they are MUCH quieter. The nice thing about 4 speeds is they are fun to drive even if you're not running the hell out of the car. There's no sense in beating these things to death EVERY time you drive them either. Cruising is fun too.
An auto to 4-Speed swap is pretty straightforward. I just did on on my stepson's '65 Elcamino. You will need to get ALL of the clutch linkage and the frame mount for the Z-bar. You will need to change from a flexplate to a flywheel, install a pilot bushing in the crankshaft, change pedals, and cut a hole in the floor for the shifter. Driveshaft is the same unless you're replacing a 400 turbo. You'll obviously need a clutch & bellhousing and the Muncie. Easily done in one day.
Everything works "perfectly"... except that Damm rattle... stop the rattle and do the vid again... 'cos I think it owuld sound awsome... but I can;t really tell.

I got a 1969 chevelle 300 Deluxe 2 door post with a 6 and a glide. Its gonna get a m20 with a aluminum headed 383 stroker. Gonna be fun!
