@vinto34 Don't be sad man, that's just typical of Italian television who in those years hadn't still introduced colour footage, in spite of what happened in other countries' channels....
@yeailikeu I know that Canada was starting to do colour broadcasts in 1973. Don't know when Italy started colour broadcasts. Australia didn't do so until 1975 and Portugal was the last to go to colour broadcasts in 1981.
I have that Madrid, Spain footage. It's very grainy (with some B&W). It's actually from May 20, 1976... the very beginning of the TOO OLD TO ROCK N ROLL tour.
Ian was still wearing his minstrel outfit but it was slightly different. The waist-band and the codpiece were silver. And his boots had no laces.
Plus, the bass player is John Glascock, not Jeffrey Hammond.
It's 1976... not 75 or 74.
And on this DVD, someone mixed this footage with a Chicago 1975 show.
Yes TullTapes... Isn't this 1973 clip amazing??And yes, unfortunately it IS up to us to get this stuff released. No one else will do it. I found 3 more interviews with Ian from this GOLDEN era of Tull. We may have to pool our resources with people like Pete (of Electrocutus) to get them released. They are LOCKED away in the "Reelin In the Years" archives. Also, if you need ANY financial help to purchase that 16mm Tull film reel, please let me know. We can outbid anyone for it!!!!
Oh WOW! Just WOW! Is this from some Italian archives? Do they have any other rare goodies? That 'Ciao a tutti' really put a smile on my face. Grazie mille, ilGagio, you made my day!
Just when I though You Tube could not get any more rare, this. Ian was about as available for visual interviews in the States in this period as Howard Hughes, maybe this secretiveness, and fame, explains in small part the lack of quality videos from 71 to 75. I do recall being completely frisked in my Aqualung type coat prior to the 5/72 show in Chicago.

@risingsun1987 infatti! lo tratta come se suonasse in un gruppetto di liscio anni 50, pazzesco, e anche il traduttore non ci azzecca niente

Thanks again. OH, remember the "Madris or Chicago" 75 footage you sent to me in our previous trade Gagio? Well I told you it was New Haven remastered.
It actualy appears to be some unknown venure from 74, looks very rare. Possibly 75.

Hi Paul,
on the footage I have Ian has his minstrel outfit "Jacket" all through out Intro,Wind up/A Passion Play excerpt, & TAAB.
Jeffery is in mine, not John......
I would LOVE to see some of the 76 footage your talking about.
You should upload a clip of it.
I would be happy to trade as well.
Once again, I'm not sure what year the footage is.
Thanks, Paul! Nick

Hi Nick.
Didn't you say your DVD was Madrid & Chicago 1975 footage?
I have an old tape labeled "Madrid-Chicago 1975". But the Madrid stuff is actually early 1976. Does your DVD begin with black & white footage?
On my tape, someone mixed Madrid stuff with Chicago 1975 stuff. I'll upload the black & white Madrid footage tomorrow.
Then let me know if it's what you have.
Thanks Nicky

Mines in color, a bit out of focus, and a bit far from stage.
It has Over dubbed sound with Minstrel in the gallery (Studio Version).
I will comment on the video your uploading just in case it is the same stuff.
Thanks again, Paul! Nick

ilGagio... You are my HERO.
WHERE did you find this?
I heard about an Italian TV interview from March 16th, 1973 with Ian Anderson, but I thought it was lost forever.
It is soooo rare to see a pro-shot, synch-sound footage of Ian from the 1971-1975 period. Is this from the RAI TV archives?
I found three interviews with Ian from this era also. (Early 1972, August 1974 and Sept. 1974) It will cost me THOUSANDS to get them released.
Please keep looking in the European archives. We need MORE.
