  • Omg awsome u do taiko druming my self x

  • i l,ove it brian....uncle daVID

  • does this beat have a specific name ??? i like the beat!

  • The most simple instrument made by humans is also the fucking coolest.....the drum

  • This is sick it sounds like naruto music xD

  • This is our group, Triangle Taiko. The girl is Mari, the man on the small drum is Rocky (he's our leader), I'm behind Mari, the guy all the way to the left is Anthony (he moved away several years back), and the fellow at the rear of this shot is Beren.

  • my school made taiko drums and one of those small drums we call it a daiko drum! look up sky view high school marching band 2010!

  • i am now studying taiko in singapore as i was born here and it is rare to find taiko drummers in singapore :P performing for the upcoming YOG!

  • Does anyone know if I can get Taiko CD's anywhere? I love the percussion. :3

  • הצג סקריפט אנגלי

These traditional drums were built for one purpose to keep evil spirits and demons. There is no argument that gears is one the most beautiful in Japan

  • hahahaha i tried that before at this Japenese American National museum and it was fun!!! i even got to see this family that survived during the world war2

  • In this video, the drummers are playing several Miyoshidaiko (an improved barrel-drum design developed by Mark Miyoshi near Shasta City, CA, USA)---I recognize the color ribs on the drums---with a Shimedaiko of unknown builder.

  • It is art, eastern "marshal" art

  • They are shouting, "So-le!" the equivalent to "GO!"

  • its so-re. there is no 'L' sound in Japanese ^^

  • Exactly: I just lived in Japan and studied Taiko. When my instructor shouted "So-re!" It sounded like "So-le!" because there are no "R" sounds in Japanese either.

It is not directional, it is more like ,"Play!" or "Let's GO!" often shouted at the beginning of a section or to mark rests. (At least that's how my sensei used it) It helps keep the energy high.

  • @thelastrefuge its Soleh.

  • @thelastrefuge Yes more people come and grows the rank of thoses who defend Japan. Maybe they will understrand a day that even gaijins are ready to offer as much to japan as it can offer to them...

  • is that directional? like "to there!"?

  • What is it they shout at 1:50, "Celery!"

    Are they vegetable enthusiasts?

  • Yeah sounded like it. Celery with Ranch FTW!! I can see why they would make it there main source of inspiration, a AZN gotta have his Celery!

  • @zznarcolepsy lmao

  • @yesturtle Maybe they performing a benefit concert for Farm Aid?

  • whats that small drums thats my favourite i played it befor but dont know what it is someone please tell

  • It is a shimei daiko

  • whats the small drum that sounds awesome

  • Don't think they are professional...

That's why I wouldn't be tempted to make a bad comment

  • these are not beginners. this is a small ensemble and i can see that they are trip and keep the beat.. in the larger productions, s/o could mess up and you'd never know it. Taiko rocks! U Tube has alot more of this. Tx, UTube

  • wow that's really cool. ^^

  • RAK4SHOT,

Your "drumline makes jokes about this style all the time"? They're not too bright, are they.

  • r0k3r101: "the guy at the far right, it looks like they pulled him off the street, and said: "hit this drum until we stop"

You're not very observant, I think.

  • blessedalcuin, Is it lonely up there on your pedestal?

  • the chick at the front does a lot of bouncing. lol.

  • its very good

but the vid quality ruins it

  • i went to the japanese american national museum today in la and it was really entertaining.

  • o god....i will never be this good D=

  • what is no easy the counting, the hiting,or what???can you explain a little????can you undertand??

  • This is rythmatically amazing.

  • a group like this came to my school at multi-cultural week and we all got to try out some drums,Denali91 is right, if you stand too close to the drums, you can feel the sound reverberate in your chest.

  • Listening to taiko is so much better live because it so loud you can feel the vibrations

  • @denali91 it is even better when u are peforming it (i am in a taiko group) XD

  • Bravi!

  • This is sweet. The part around 2:58 sounds like something from Naruto. Taiko is freakin awesome!

  • I play the taiko drums :), or did at SJS (Sheridan Japanese School) :)

  • lo mejor en taiko

  • we played something like that in my school during a concert,it was cool.

  • Absolutely Awesome, Loved every second of it. Thank You!

Anymore info about the artists would greatly be appreiciated.

  • Is that only my illusion or they played Gekito gekki (strong and strike) by Masuda Toshiro (Naruto soundtrack) since 2:45??

  • no, it just sounds similar.

  • cool music man

  • yes!

    wonderful.

  • yes.

  • Very nice kiurbarra. I liked every second of it.

  • were cool! :D I'm in love with Taiko drumming nowdays!

  • The gurl was the best one there, cool^_^. the guy in the back hitting the little drum with chopsticks was cool also.

  • oo very good. i enjoyed it.

  • Thank you for the comments. We're a fairly new group, just over five years old now. This performance was from a couple of years ago.

  • are you all a fairly new group? ive been playing taiko for about 2 years now.. it was some what easy for me to pick up since i was a drummer and one thing that i leared was to loosen up.. taiko is suppose to be a very beautiful art form where everything is smooth.. taiko rythems can be very boring but it's all about the visual aspect of it. loosen up more and get into a better stance and yall would be better! good job!

  • This troupe is quite talented. But one of the players is off key by about one or two seconds, which can make the difference in a performance. But nice job, especially towards the end.

  • All right guys!!!! Whoo! Nice job! HO yea!

  • My comment didn't post. I'm a member of this group. Thanks for the comments. We are wearing japanese carpenters' outfits.

  • And thank you for the kind comments.

  • That was pretty cool

  • i love takio, but i had a hard time watching this video. are these guys the Devo version of Japanese taditional music??? i mean, what exactly are they wearing, it's distracting in the anoying kind of way. otherwise they play pretty good.

  • ¿Que pedo con el vato de atras?

  • is true , is naruto theme

  • 2:45 and on sounded like Naruto's theme.

  • the one in black and white is getting on my nerves! other than that it s great!

  • lol! he's just looking around ahaha

  • Ohhhhh Yessssss!!!

  • Awesome!!!

  • dude that was great.

  • Awsome! I love Taiko drumming.....I really want to play one badly, and be in an acctual Taiko class kinda thing. :(
