Then from 907 to 960, China was break up to several small Kingdoms, some of the enperors were not Han Chinese, but none of them were muslims. From 960 to 1279, it was Song Dynasty, none of the emperors were muslims too.

I'm a Hui muslim. There 10 minorities believe in Islam In China, including Hui,
Uighur,Kazak,Salar,Dongxiang and so on.
Musilims called "non CHinese nation" are Uighur ,Kazak ,TAjik and so on. Those "Chinese muslims" are Huis. In fact, we Hui people were NOT Chinese at the begining. Our Ancestors were Arab ,persian and Turki. They came China for various reasons in 7th to 13th century. We didn't speaked Chinese until the Ming Dynasty was built. We were absorbed enforced.

Check out pictures of Han, Hui, Arab and Persian, see for yourself what Caucasian features Hui people have and then tell me where most of your ancesters are from. I respect Islam and Hui people, but in the same time you guys should not deny the fact most of your ancesters are Han Chinese, through religious conversion and intermarriage, and it is still happening today.

If you go to rural areas in central China,where Hui people is interspersed with Han people, you will find out that if a person is converted to Islam, his nationality changes to Hui from Han. And the same thing holds true for childrens of intermarriage between Hui and Han.

Non-Han Chinese is the correct expression and not non-Chinese since Chinese is not of one ethnicity, tribal nation, or language. Although a unified writing system, Zhongwen, is one of the longest in existence, Han and 55 other non-Han Chinese make up the diversity of Chinese civilization and history with Han Chinese at one time or another being ruled by non-Han Chinese (Mongols, Tibetans, and etc.).

In the 50s, After the cultural revolution, which was ANTI RELIGION, it showed that Muslims made up around 5 percent of the population!
I personally think that the census done in the 30s is correct, which would mean that Muslims would make up around 120-130 million Muslims in China.
