The movie was about raising the American flag. Ok so let me ask how long dose it take to raise a flag? 10-20 minuts? but if the movie is about a WW II documentary that led to the raising of the american flag and the African Americans did fought in that war but not show any african fighting along side then the document is either biase or incomplete, I'm not saying that they should fabricate a black man raising the flag, unless it was true.

Why, for a story on diabetes, do they show people with renal failure getting dialysis? Then they show this other woman just taking a shot of something, like she has better health care or something. You don't treat diabetes with dialysis, dialysis is for kidney failure, not diabetes. These are to different patients with different illnesses being treated for their illness, if the lady taking the shot is actually taking insulin or glucagon. How does this representation change the story?

I LOVE Clint Eastwood. I think Spike Lee is a little overrated. I have enjoyed some of Spike Lee's movies, but I think, in general, they overly directed. Clint Eastwood tells stories in a way that I favor, personally. I don't like pink phones falling out of the sky. I don't appreciate all the female nudity in Spike Lee's films. It's a little misogynistic. I hate the "floating" thing he does. I don't get it. But, I think it is important to point out when black people are left out of history.

JUNGLE FEVER SUCKED! Whew, I had to say it. That movie was a sad, stupid mix exploitation of the worst choices of fallen humanity and OBVIOUS racial and ethnic negative stereotypes. The movie was about raising the American flag. This is coming from a African American. Although I respect Spike Lee efforts to make a movie like Malcolm X or the Miracle at ST Anna. He lacks diversity and range as a director. A trait Clint Eastwood has and that why he can make compelling good movies to this day. I absolutely loved Gran Turino. Why, for a story on diabetes, do they show people with renal failure getting dialysis? Then they show this other woman just taking a shot of something, like she has better health care or something. You don't treat diabetes with dialysis, dialysis is for kidney failure, not diabetes. These are to different patients with different illnesses being treated for their illness, if the lady taking the shot is actually taking insulin or glucagon. How does this representation change the story?

Black people were denied combat roles, meaning they didn't fight in WW2, although they did work.
So by putting them in Flags of our fathers, you would be making a mistake, as black people weren't allowed to fight.
Look at movies based on the Iraq war and Vietnam war, they have loads of black soldiers in, as they were actually there.

Spike Lee is smart. Hes been makn movies 4 a long time n quite a few real good 1s imo. This is just a publicity stunt 2 get people attention 4his new movie. n look it works. hes caused u 2 think deeply about him n his movie. good advertising causes u to think critically about the product. once your mind has been engaged in that way, u have the product engraved in your mind. u will talk about it 2 ur friends n make it a topic of conversation/argument. its pretty simple but also quite brilliant.

@ emerald, we are talking about being historically accurate. If the movie takes place in 1700 Europe, it would make since that everyone is white. If a movie is in 1800 Africa, it would make sense that the whole cast is Black. The account in this film was not historically accurate.

I LOVE Clint Eastwood. I think Spike Lee is a little overrated. I have enjoyed some of Spike Lee's movies, but I think, in general, they overly directed. Clint Eastwood tells stories in a way that I favor, personally. I don't like pink phones falling out of the sky. I don't appreciate all the female nudity in Spike Lee's films. It's a little misogynistic. I hate the "floating" thing he does. I don't get it. But, I think it is important to point out when black people are left out of history.

Spike Lee is an Okay director, and as bad as he took Eastwood's war films up the ass, he completely failed to make a war movie with black soldiers a good one.
Miracle at St. Anna was a subpar movie that does not rank with the likes of Eastwood's, "Flags of Our Fathers", Spielberg's, "Private Ryan", or Ridley Scott's, "Black Hawk Down."
But more in the ranks of an old John Wayne movie.
He didn't deliver.

Spike Lee used to be a talented filmmaker. "Do the Right Thing" was a brilliant film, best thing he's ever done but he's lost it. His films are crap now. No subtlety and too much in your face. So now he resorts to using race to sell his films and criticize other filmmakers. Pathetic, Spike, pathetic. He says only black filmmakers can make films about black people and yet he can make films about white people. Go back to making good films Spike and shut people up that way.

JUNGLE FEVER SUCKED! Whew, I had to say it. That movie was a sad, stupid mix exploitation of the worst choices of fallen humanity and OBVIOUS racial and ethnic negative stereotypes.
