  • Sitting on a fire cracker?

  • Very good try and you have a lot of fun as I see, however this piece is made for orchestra and, unlike many other classical music, impossible to play on a piano without loosing it's feel.

  • hahah the way he plays makes it look fun!

  • Thanks, everyone - and Happy New Year! I appreciate your warm comments. More concerts, and YouTube posts, coming in spring.

  • The way he's playing, his movements, made me smile. We can clearly see and feel that he is enjoying it. Well done Sir :D

  • I can see you are having fun playing this piece Mr. Adler :)

  • This guy is amazing, but I came here looking for whose line is it anyway!!

  • KUDOS! Now why do I have a sudden hankering for a fat juicy steak???

    :)

  • 17,138 people at this concert.

  • from 1:38 he looks really happy

  • faster, play it faaaaaster!!!!

  • I loved how much feeling James put into this piano peice! I was rolling on the floor laughing! It's almost as if Aaron Copland is in his hands. He's a definite inspiration to me. I hope one day I'll be able to play this song and just as well as Mr.Adler.Thanks!

  • Thanks, folks. ;-)

  • That was awesome

  • i can't stop looking at the shiny head in the front row, it's mezmerizing

  • @welcometourf What head? I can't EVEN see the piano let alone a shiny head since there is so many people there croweding the view:

Perhaps the uploader should have smaller people in the front and taller people in the back no? :)

  • LOVED IT!!!!

  • Beef...it's what's for dinner.

  • Great, hope you enjoy learning it - a truly fun piece. Cheers!

  • Brilliant! You've inspired me to attempt learning this (key word= attempt) ;-)

  • i can play that

    it's SO much fun

  • Aw he's so happy!

  • Thanks for your comments and compliments, folks - much-appreciated. Happy New Year!

  • I demand to see his hands! I'm sure he has more fingers then the ten I was born with!

  • Does anybody know where I can get sheet music for this?

  • From the Boosey & Hawkes piano edition, prepared (presumably) by Aaron Copland.

  • There's no pianist quite like James Adler.

  • Absolutely amazing!!! I had no idea this could even be played on a piano! The ending looks like so much fun to play!

  • any notice that this guy memorized the entire thing? :O

  • Since Franz Liszt( and the so difficult pieces) pianists use to memorize every single piece cause the don't have time to look at the sheet =)

  • I think there's nothing strange about it.

    Musicians remember, academicians read sheets.

  • most pianists do (for performances at least)

  • love the fact that this guy is so INTO IT. nicely done

  • Had this guy as my music professor in freshman year of college. Fucking amazing piano player. I remember one time he came in with a broken arm and started playing like crazy. He's the man.

  • holy crap thats quick

  • is the sheet music available?? I've got a CD with Mark Allan playing his transcription, sounds exactly the same as this version, could it have been published?

  • There should be, I think Aaron Copland did a transcription of this for piano, as well as Saturday Night Waltz.

  • Yes, the piano publication has several different works. All difficult, sadly. ;-)

  • left hand= cello

    right hand= violin

  • i need this sheet music!!!!!!!!!!!!! some body help

  • Well played Mr. Adler

  • Well played indeed. I never heard this piece as a piano solo before.

  • Outstanding. You really get into the spirit of the piece.

  • Las disonancias me recuerdan la música de la películas "2 mulas y una mujer"

  • Hey James. I didn't realize what a good pianist you were. I thought you were just a composer. Great job!!!

  • Nice job.

  • Class
