Sadly I seem to remember reading somewhere, that they had 2 more movies planned after this one, but never got around to making because of Bill's illness! Correct me if I'm wrong ;)
@BaywatchDK I heard the very same thing. The final movie would have proven David nor TIH had killed his doctor colleague in the two-hour pilot. he then would have been rid of The Hulk once and for all and finally fell in love and moved on with his life. A shame those two films were never made.
Oh that Peter Cullen was a wonderful Narrator. He often narrated for NBC min-series , movies of the week and their promotions back in the 80's & 90's. He had away of really caputuring the mood and dramatic affect of the movie or show that he was advertizing.
@GESSO217 Actually, Kenneth Johnson said he decided to change it because he wanted to get as far away from the comic book as possible. He felt it sounded too comic booky.
@hobokenplayboy It's been a while since I watched that one so I'm more than sure that your correct. But I do remember reading on a number of Incredible Hulk fan sites that the name was changed because David sounded more manly than Bruce. Of course this was about 10 years ago and the info may not have been 100% acurate.
The TV Hulk Died this way because he was nowhere near as powerful as his comic counterpart. Also this wasn't suppose to be the End for the TV Hulk. They were planning to make a Fourth Movie but Bill Bixby,The actor who played Banner, died before they could.
@GESSO217 , I allways thought it was a dumb way for the TV Hulk to die a fall from a Plane since in the Comic book he can survive a fall from that height. Yeah I know it is a comic and in comics you can do anything but still it was dumb. but then the TV Hulk could be hit and injuryed by Bullets and in the comic they just bounce off his tough skin.
There was a fourth Hulk TV movie planned called "The Rebirth of the Incredible Hulk." It was in pre-production and Bill Bixby fell ill and died. Would have been interesting to see the Hulk brought back somehow and finally cured and end the series that way.
@ryanseabass Damn. I never heard about this. I hated how David Banner died in this movie. Just about every episode had a sad ending with him walking out of town alone with that sad music. Then he had to died in this tv movie. This was some sad shit when I was a kid. Then Bill Bixby died of a terrible disease.

Crappy way to end a good series. I've always wondered why Jack Colvin wasn't involved in the last two because that was also a let down.

His name was changed from Bruce Banner to David banner in the 70's TV series. Someing about David sounding more manly.

@GESSO217 The name change was made because producer Ken Johnson likes to name characters after his family members. He has a son named David.
That is his explanation during the audio commentary from the series pilot episode.
